I'm curious John...
How many flights did you get on the wheels before you needed to ask this kinda' question?
I have the TRIM 3.3" rears and 3" nose on my hotspot, not yet flown... They look beautiful, but I have no idea what kind of life to expect...
Trying to finish the spot' off by Princeton in September.

Well, there not shot yet, but very worn, at 15 flights, but that may be my style of landings a little, not just soft wheels.
I am in need of some soon, so I need to find a way to get some within a month.
I think Ill be at princeton too, can anything fly there?
So, has anyone tried other easily obtainable tires on trim wheels?

I'm using a propotional brake valve (UP-6) on my Hot Spot equiped with the Trim wheels and brakes. I put just a tiny thin coat of dielectric (SP?) clear silicone grease on the brake "O" ring to prevent the wheels from completely locking up when full brake is applied. My stops are SMOOOOOOOOOOOOTH!!!!!! I have absolutely zero wear on my tires after eight flights from asphalt. It only takes a tiny amount to make a huge difference. If you put too much on alcohol will take it off easily. I have even set the brakes in the air to try to stop the model quickly upon touch down and still have no wear or flat spots. The trick is to only apply enough silicone grease to keep the brakes from locking up when full brake is applied. The rubber tires on the Trim units are very hard---harder than any other tire I have used and I've used all of the major ones. I will dread trying to change the tires if they ever do wear out, though. The hardness of the tire looks as though it will be tough to install. Has anyone ever replaced their tires on Trim wheels and if so was it very difficult????? Kevin

Changing Tires
Hi Gents
Changing the tires on Trim wheels can be a challenge, but it is quite possible to do. For anyone interested, I can forward a sketch of the proceedure and tool involved. We haven't looked at manufacturing the tool yet since it is a fairly simple item for anyone to make or find.

Trim Wheels
Ed,
How much would you charge to do it or would the shipping to Canada be not worth it. Mine look great for now but you never know. Also. how much would a 3 inch nose wheel cost in US dollars? What styles are available? Can you post a pic of the installation tool? E-mail me if you don't wish to post prices here. Thanks, Kevin [email protected]
