Hopper tank Setup
#1
I'm going to try installing a hopper tank in my Byron F-16, I'm currently just using a straight 32oz tank.. I relize the the line from the hopper tank goes into the hopper vent line,, But does the the hopper get a clunk on the supply to the carb or is it just a straight tubing.

Airspeed917,
you can make your hopper tank without a clunk-just time your flight so you do not burn up the 32oz. main tank-it works good-you really do not need a clunk in the hopper-as long as it stays full of fuel.

I've done both and either method works fine. Advantage to using the clunk is you can remove all the fuel from the system at the end of the day through your pump. The advantage to the straight tube is that you will always have the opening in the fuel until you run out the header tank. Jim

That is assuming that the clunk is setup right (e.g. length so that it can move inside the tank).
Thanks,
Edgar

With the fuel tube in the center of the tank, it will never be in the air bubble , as the air always goes up, to the outside edges of the tank.
Clear as mud?
