True strobe lights on modeljets?

I want to try to make scale-like strobe lights on a turbine powered model and are experimenting on the "throw-away" camera flash lights with some flip/flop electronics . A turbine powered model is however very sensitive on electric discharges and radio frequency noise, does anybody has some experience on this, do I have to guard all the wires or so? (Don't want to crash my babies!)

Gerald:
I have recently seen an installation of a Stobe lighting system manufactured by RAM Electronics on a Roo.
He DID in fact have a minor but none the less a problem with radio interference while the strobe unit was turned on. It is inportant to note that the strobe control was with-in inches of the Rx.
The strobe 'control box' MUST be located as far from the RX as possible.
This builder reconized this problem before he flew and thus saved himself some serious grief.

Hi Gerald!
I bought a very nice lighting-system in England from LHC. It ia a complete system which works with very bright LED's. I don't have any problems with interferrences with the electronic next to my rx. We tried real strobes with less efford.
Try their webpage www.anbro.com
The maxi-light system has position-lights for wingtips and tail, flashers for the fuse and two ACL's. Power-supply is by a 9V-batterie, it turns on when you switch on the rx. It is switched to thrust-channel with a y-lead and ACL turn on at half-throttle, like on scale airplanes (for take-off/flight). The ACL turns of with stick to idle and one click of trim.
If you have any question feel free to e-mail at [email protected]

David, thanks for the reply (glad you liked the art.) but are your type of lights bright enough on a sunny day? I also did some trials on light systems which worked great in my hobby room and taxiing on the ground but in the air hardly noticeable! So I still want to go on with the actual strobe units.
Kerry, do you know what type of flashing lights where used on the roo?
Gerald.

Hi Gerald!
Did you have a look at the spiderjets-page? Nicolas found someone who is manufacturing what you want. I wrote him a mail and he sent me some pics. If you are interested, please send a mail and I will send you the pics.
