It sounds like he has a Byron F16 with a ducted fan currently producing 12 pounds thrust. He doesnt know a lot about turbines but would like one in the 17 to 20 pound thrust range, and was wondering if a RAM 750 would do.

At least thats what it sounds like!

How does the poll's choice of "jet or turbine" factor into that?

Default RAM

He is only asking if a 12 pound turbine is more powerfull than a RAM 750 turbine producing 18 pounds of ducted fan thrust in a Byron F-16 while producing 18 pounds in a RAM 750 and producing 12 pounds in a ducted fan producing 17 pounds of RAM 750. Now wha's so hard to understand.

The answer is simple. Yes, a RAM 750 will produce more than 12 pounds of thrust as the ducted fan produces 12 pounds of thrust in the RAM 750 producing 18 pounds of thrust in the ducted fan version. hence, the ducted fan is better thatn the Byron F-16 but not as good as the RAM 750 at 17 pounds of thrus in a ducted fan.

????????????????????????????????

I think simjet Ducted fun. Not much thrust. 17 is very good.
My F16 22 thrust, but turbine only. Be careful with ducted fun, it is not the same like turbine. Turbine more thrust but propeller very fast.

I hope this is clear enough, like the question.

EXCELLENT post Gerhart. The answer, which should be intuitively obvious to even the most casual observer, is the Spotted Northern Muskellunge.

Perhaps the fellows written english isnt that good. Making fun of the guy's posting isnt exactly nice. Why not try and help him out instead?

Both my parents are imigrants and allthough they speak fluent English, they write at a grade 2 level. Not everyone had the opportunity to go to school.

Twistagain,
If indeed you are looking for 20 pound thrust turbines, I think the answer you are after is:

Ram 750, Jetcat P80 (17 pounds) or P120 (28 pounds), Simjet 2300, or the TJT3000.
