Default DHL Damage

Just received a very nice Bobcat from a member. He did a great job of packing, built a good crate out of wood, and shipped DHL. Got here today. They had stuck a forklift tang through the end of the box. Only the supurb packing job allowed the jet to survive at all, and I won't know till later how bad they dinged it. They will send an inspector out, so they say. My advice, don't ship DHL. This is the second time in a row!

Great I just shipped a jet yesterday with DHL. BTW What method are you guys using to ship international? I need to ship a jet to the UK and they want $659.00, that's absurd.

I shipped a jet to Puerto Rico via UPS and everything went well. I was pretty careful in packing, but if they had stabbed it with a forklift it would have done a lot of damage despite my care.

Ed sure knows how to crate a jet. This is the only damage after inspection. A shame though, nice jet. I will try to attach picture.

Yep, add my name to the list of DHL damaged packages. I got my Boomerang Intro ARF shipped via DHL and when the box arrived, it looked like it had been through a war. I mean, the airplane was double boxed as most ARF's are and there was a big chunk of the INSIDE box missing! The outside on one end looked like it went through a shredder. I couldn't believe it. The most amazing thing is, the airplane when unpackaged only had one very minor scrape on the root of one wing panel. I really don't see how they managed to damage the box that bad and not damage the airplane. They had to put a new address label over the original because there was so much tape on the box it couldn't be read. Anyway, i would steer clear of DHL and plan to if i need anything like this shipped.

Tom, what size box? Don't worry about weight, it'll go dimensional anyway. (Make it as small as Ya can)

Hey Dean, Thats the problem the box is 45 x 46 x 10. The wings do not come off. ( It's the 44 sized Cutlass)

Thanks

Customer pickup, London? Customer to pay VAT? That's half the size of an A-10 crate and the last time I shipped by the old Emory Air Freight it was $300 customer pick-up.
