Default Flew the MERLIN powered Kingcat today!

Put a couple of flights on the engine today. I'm running out of good things to say about this engine thus far. Fired right up once I got the air out of the fuel line. Took off a 40 lb airplane at one third throttle. About 2 minutes into the flight I had unlimited accelerated vertical from almost a stand still. I'm getting a solid 12 minute flight going full throttle about 5 full minutes of the 12.

The acceleration can be seen and heard. There are about 14 to 16 turbine pilots in the austin area, 6 of them were at the field today and all came over and were impressed with the engine.

Second flight was better than the first and expect the next flights to get even better.

Dreamworksrc and Gaspar have the real deal here, I'm looking forward to putting another 20 flights on the airplane up in Dallas next weekend.

I witnessed the 2 flights today. I was impressed. The Merlin pushed the KingCat around with little effort. The vertical preformance was outstanding. Most of the flights were done at half throttle except when gong straight up. After a 12 minute flight the mains were used up and about 25 ounces left in the 50 ounce center tank.

Sean,

You can send me that "old" clunker turbine you had on the King Kat at Mississippi. LOL

Brian, you bet, for you I'll only charge double

And being from Arkansas, I know you'll see the value in that!

If you are only charging double then I want two of them.

BTW, I am looking at the Merlin for my winter project plane, I will be calling you in a month or so to get some additional feedback on the Merlin's performance.
