Hey guys! Well, while I was here in Cali., I put a post on about jet flying around Monterey and boy did I get an answer!! Dave called from Tams place and invited me to go out to the field one day if I didn't get called out (i'm a charter pilot....CRAZY schedule!!). I let them know yesterday that I was released and was available that evening, but Tam was very busy and couldn't come out then, but maybe the next night (very understandable!!). I told Dave it was a date, if of course I didn't get called out to fly. Next thing I know he calles me back and says they are going out since I might not be able to the next day!!!
Yes thats right, they made a special trip to the field just so I could see some action! I told them I didn't want them to go out of their way, but they insisted...........talk about good guys!!
David pulled up in the truck, and what did he have in it? Oh yeah!!! The new F18, man it was off the hook!! I've seen this thing here on rcu several times, but you just can't appreciate it till you see it up close......it has to be on rails when it flies!
Thank you very much Tam and David......I had a great time, the trip was well worth it.
I'll try to post some pics if I can remember how so here goes......

If some of you are wondering how this baby handles in the wind..............well, just take a look at Dave's pants, it was WINDY!! You couldn't even tell the wind was blowing the way she handled it! [8D] Also, there were several fury "spectators" all around

Looks like the system only want me to post 2 at the time now for some reason.....oh well! Was a beautiful day (except for the wind), lots of blue sky and comfortable temps. The take off roll and landing (I think Tam got a much better pic of the landing, but here it is).

Ahhhhhhhhh, the end of another good day of flying!!
[8D] I think this was over 100 flights on the 18......flawless!
Another pic of our "spectators", being sure everything was checked before flight!
Thanks again guys, I can't wait to come back again!! Thanks Mark for all your info too, I'm sure I'll be chatting with you more. Until next time!

Robert-
Glad you guys had a good time. ANY excuse is a good excuse to head to the field and fly the new SuperHornet.........like I said, there are times that we have to peal the transmitter out of daves hands
If any of us can be of help in the future, just give us a call!

Robert,
It was a pleasure meeting you and thanks for taking the time to drive up to see us. Tam is so busy that sometimes he forgets that we have a flying field 15 minutes away, and we can sneak in a few flights in the evening. He loves meeting fellow jet pilots from all over and he was more then happy to move his schedule around for you....dont worry, you didnt put him out in any way..he will just have to crack the wip a little harder for the rest of the week. Anytime you are in town and need a little "fix" just give us a call and we would be more then happy to go make some noise.
Fly safe bud,
Dave

Hey Dave! Man I am glad we got to go out that evening......I got a call on the way back to the hotel about a trip the next night.....matter of fact, I'm sitting in Teterboro NJ right now! Had to fly out of Van Nuys at 8pm to the east coast
. Sure do appreciate the invite whenever I get back, hopefully it won't be too long. Sure would like to see the 16 fly sometime too. Had loads of fun, well worth the drive up, thanks again to all!
