Ok so we are to the point of installing the pipe in the TGA F-15 conversion.

I decided to go with a straight pipe install and a P-60.
Well now after looking at whats going to happen to the rear fuse with a straight pipe, I really don't want to bucher it this much.
It looks like the whole plane ready to fly dry going to be right around 14-15lbs.

Am I going to lose too much thrust for the P-60 to move this plane out with a bi-pipe?

Tam does great work but man I really don't want to sink $350 or more into the pipe on this plane.
Anyone have any 12lbs turbine sized bi-pipes laying around?
Or any other idea how to tackle this?

I've seen F-15's with a straight pipe like that. Better to fly well than look well IMO on that sort of project. It's sport scale anyway. Just make it work.

You will need to post measurements of the center of the exits and the overall length of the pipe. I flew the Skymaster F-15 on a MW-54 mk2 on an old pipe that made the exhaust go out at an angle. We got 8 lbs on the ground, but it flew ... barely. The pipe was a one off trying to reduce the losses by using the fewest bends, did'nt work. I would imagine that with a good pipe you would loose around 1 to 2 lbs at the most.

Post the measurements we have a few pipes laying around. And if not check out www.pstjets.com they make bifuricated pipes. Also you could call Airpac I know that Eric has a source for custom pipes too.

Sean yeah your probably right.

I have seen an F15 with single pipe, turbine mounted normally in the centre and pipe angled to one outlet. The aircraft performed OK and apparently did not show any problems with assymetric thrust.

Also maybe if we lower the turbine a bit then more cutout can be on bottom instead of the top.

On center... 6.25"

Pipe was for JPX setup in Avonds F-15..... you think this might work for you ?

the outlet pipes would be centered at 4.5"

The overall pipe length is 19"

I think we have the solution to run with now though.
Lowering the engine and pipe makes things on top look much better.

Why not a round to oval pipe transition? ... I think that it could work as long you pay attention to the cross section areas . you will not have any thrust angle issues with this one.
