Florida International Jet Rally - Great Event !!!! **Check 2003 dates**
We would like to remind everybody that before you can operate any new engine at an AMA Sanctioned Event, whether you run it statically or want to fly it in a demo, the engine must be submitted to and accepted by AMA prior to the operation.
You can find a list of accepted turbine engines on the AMA website under AMA Documents, Document #519
http://modelaircraft.org/templates/ama/PDF-files/519.pdf
AMA has a program available (for manufacturers only ) that allows engines not yet accepted by AMA to be demonstrated at AMA Sanctioned Events, however no engine information has been submitted by any of the manufacturers/distributors as of this time.

OKAY, OKAY, OKAY> MY BAD. But if I tell you then I'll have to move over to another heading or topic or something.
I just found it odd that THEY found their way into THIS thread.

REMIND US?
OKay, I'll spit it out. Why did someone from the AMA come into this thread to "remind us" about a specific rule? I mean - come on! Take a look at all the other threads mentioning jet events - is there any reminder there? Does the AMA think someone is about to break a rule at this event and are just being a "big Brother"? Is the AMA actually "watching" everyone themselves or are they hiring spies? What the heck is going on here? Hey is someone planning an "illegal" engine run - is that it?

Need a room >>>> Hotels for FIJ
The Florida SkyDiving Centre had a usefull Link on the webpage, with a list of hotels in the area of Lake Wales.
Tonight I was still able to find plently of rooms available less than 5mins away at good prices.
The Skydiving centre is at the same airport as FIJs.

BTW whos going to throw themself's out of a plane this weekend, I hear its a great view on your way down @ 150mph ( if you live to tell about it lol)
The weather is looking promising too. According to the lastest TAF.

Heavybird
Hey Heavybird I meant the thread before you, the AMA one.
They must have a little info of someone that may break a rule.
Thats what I meant about aimed towards some one, like a turbine mfg.

Exactly!
Large,
I guess that makes my point. Does the AMA actually have the ability to "peer" into the goings on of all events? That is scary because it would mean that there are "informants" who have nothing better to do than to "Tell on their neighbor". Truely sick behavior if someone really is doing that. Whats to say that the infomants are just trying to start stuff for the heck of it.
I don't think it is fair to assume that an event is going to be poisoned just because of someones here say.

Awesome! Great time at a fantastic event. 70+ pilots and a full sky from dawn to dusk. Managed to put 27 flights in between friday and saturday. Was so busy flying I didn't take many pictures but here's a few I snapped as I walked to get my pin....
Todd
Bob Price after an awesome flight.... Had a great time hanging with Bob, always a smile on his face....

The AV8R's of Frank Tiano, John Christensen and Pat McCurry....
Thanks to Pat for giving me some stick time on his ram 500 powered AV8R...Great flying plane! Smooth a silk and almost lands itself, looks like PCM has a big hit on their hands! Great job pat....
