THIS MAKE YOU THINK IN A NEAR FUTURE WILL BE NO NEED FOR PILOT ANY MORE ON MILITARY AIRCRAFT JUST COMPUTER GUYS WITH GPS .ELECTRONIC NOW IS THE FUTURE.[X(]

If you mean a model like we fly today at fields and events, then no, no way it will ever happen. At least not until we are way past collecting social security.
The forces on an airframe reaching those speeds is far beyond what you are imagining. I personally do not know the basic forces associated, but I can assure you there isn't any equipment out there that could handle the job, and probably won't be for a long, long time.
And this is probably a good thing, not bad.

I few years ago, the best servo was around 60 oz and the battery was 500 mah
now its 330 oz and 2000 mah... same size and weight.
My first turbine had 9 lbs of thrust and weighted 4.5 lbs. Now 52 lbs.
Why do you think progress is going to stop. ?

772 Mph at sea level, 72 degrees F. That's 1131 FPS, or outta sight in about 2 seconds. Then there's the structural problems John mentioned. Make one mistake, pull a smidgen to hard on the elevator, get mixed up during the control reversal part of the shock wave attachment, get some high subsonic airflow in the wrong place, get a mach spike at the wrong place and you spread really small pieces over a really big area faster'n you can say sh.......I don't think it's gonna happen.

Sidewinder missiles go way faster than that and they have electricly powered servoes.
The problem is, there is no need or demand for a plane like this. If the Military needed it, it would happen.
If the hobby guys want it, it will just take longer. No body wants it or needs it right now.
What if a new camera came out tomorrow with 4 x the res as HD and could be tranimitted 20 miles without any
problems. That solves half the problems..
I think you need to real carefull when you say NEVER, because 100 years ago LOTS of people say man will never fly.

Yes, it is possible to a r/c airplane brake the sound barrier. and you even didn´t need a exotic turbine or rockets to do it.
Just tie a sleek and strong model to a high altitude balloon, with a release mechanism and some
kind of optic aid, like a long range onboard video camera. Release it from high altitude and then
you would see how many mach´s you reach in function of the altitude of the release..

at 1/3rd the speed of sound, my RC model jet was pulling 11+Gs pulling out of that pass ...... the speed was very easy to handle, and i think if i had a larger field, tripple that would be doable in terms of visual orientation and controll .... but the forces exerted on the airframe to keep the plane within view, or involved in slowing through a turn after a hypotetically supersonic pass would be tremendous ... I bet the sonic boom off of a RC jet would sound super cool however
) .. oh, also i understand the exhaust velocity of one of our typical turbines is just over 600 MPH ... Im going for mach .5 with my CAI Raptor and P180 some time next year ... I think that speed already will be tough to attain on even that combo ..

Model rockets have hit 1600 mph....straight up!.......
hmmmm rocket assist ???? i might keep that in mind for the Raptor ... there are plenty of available rocket engines with tremendous power .... making your own is also an idea .... a quick 2 - 4 second burn could really get a jet moving on a pass ....

Yes Joe , and it would be cheap and fun... I just didn´t recommend it for people reading this doing it
is because the possibility of a collition with air traffic at the random and slow ascent of the balloon..
Anyway, around 200 or 400 mph is good enough for me...
