Curtis would probably give you the shirt off his back to help a fellow modeler out. Just because he states how he feels dont make him a bad guy!

[quote]

I whole heartedly agree with that sentiment. As far as a shirt off my back, I'd do the same. Now I don't think many people will take you up IF YOU offered:
1) Because it would like like they are in a parachute
2) Well you make up your own mind....

I remember the days here when you had to really sieve hard through loads of useful jet related topics/pictures/info/guidance/suggesstions to find any bs/crap/back stabbing/whinging/slagging off etc

Now, it's the complete opposite. I'm sure there's still some good stuff on here - just gotta sieve through a load of bs/crap/back stabbing/whinging/slagging off posts to find it [8D]
Exactly the reason why my input has diminished in this forum. It's like I am watching Jerry Springer in here daily, Why bother.... [sm=confused.gif]
Todd
Yeah! I know what you mean! Don't you hate when Skymaster or their boy Luv2flyRc come in and start making a ruckus every time someone posts anything about Jetlegend? Man, lots of people HATE that!
You know what was the WORST one? When that guy started in with how evil the Deland Golden Hawks were for only allowing jets to fly at their field once a year for the Jets Over Deland meet. This guy started in about how awful they were, how they only wanted the money, yadda yadda yadda...he even called them the DELAND TALIBAN. All for just holding a jet meet.
As I remember, the meet went on anyway, and the POLICE HAD TO ESCORT THE GUY AWAY FROM THE MEET when he showed up.

Man...that was JERRY SPRINGER CENTRAL.

You know what's so damn funny about this thread? The guy who started it, Duke, said he understood I had a point, and that what Skymaster was doing (posting on all Jetlegend threads) was wrong, and he said they would knock it off. Far as I am concerned, that was the end of that. And yet...somehow...all of the slammers here missed that post, and keep bashing on. Dogpile on Easytiger!
Well...bring it ON, biyatch!
Since you all got a nice squirrelcage going on here, might as well wade in!

Say...can I start a new poll?
Q: Should we ban all vendors and reps here?

or
Q: Can we start another forum where vendors can feel free to circlejerk each other or bash each other as they see fit, without "civillians" or anybody else being able to call them out on it? Oh, wait...I can always pick up a copy of MODEL AIRPLANE NEWS if I want to hear about how everything started on the first flip, and flew straight off the board with no trim at all!

No, I just type faster than you, and I don't need to call my Mom over to help me with the big words when I am reading, like some, so you may APPEAR to you that I spend more time here than I actually do.

Actually, I just keep a window open in the background when I am working on actual paying work on my computer, and pop in now and then...I don't "live" here, and I don't lose any sleep over this...

I witnessed John drop his transmitter one day while flying, instead of picking it up...he just flew the rest of the flight with his toes. Very impressive indeed. I think I will try it someday as well, just as soon as I can figure out how to make my neckstrap go all the way to the ground.
Yo knuckles are already dragging on the ground, can't see why your neckstrap won't reach, too.

it semms as though it would be quite a scientific experiment if our moderators might lose ET>,s acess for a week and see if 99.9999999% of all negative and finger pointing posts disapear ..............,,just food for thought , and by the way ET this forum is not free speech it is payed for and i hear footsteps and the clock ticking your time is almost up!!!! you are the only one on this form that can get under RCPETE'S thick canadian skin. feel proud that you have ailianated any real mdeling friendships in the jet community that most of us grow at each and every event, but you won't be able to do that because of the way you run your tailpipe. YOU ARE NOT WELCOME, untill you change your ways!
Yeah, it's all ME. If I dissapear for a week(which happens all the time), then all you would have is nice things like Skymaster slamming Jetlegend and Tamjets, BVM reps slamming Aviation Design, and EVERYBODY slamming Jetjoe!
"This forum is not free speech, it is paid for!"

Yeah. JETLEGEND is a sponsor!

"Ailianated(sp) any real mdeling(sp) friendships in the jet community..."

Yeah...that's like saying that NONE of the geeks at band camp will ever be my friend! Boohoohoo!

Seriously, though, I have plenty of friends, and if they don't like the fact that I speak my mind...
Then I guess they really weren't friends after all, were they?

Much leniency is being given this thread, but let's not get too carried away with the insults guys.

I'm still waiting for answers to be given in how you guys want your forum moderated. We've tried the hard and fast approach, we've tried laying back a little, we've tried multiple ways several times and received complaints each and every time.

If you want us to lay the hammer down again, let me get back some of the old carpenters we had in here before. The fact is RCU has rules. These rules must be followed by everyone. The jet forum has by far the most members who try skirt these rules. Why is it so hard for everyone to follow rules, they really are not that tough? How about we lay off each other for a change and offer up a solution or two that will help everyone enjoy these forums more.

Also guys, if you think this forum should be run differently take control and offer to join the moderating team. Make the difference and do your part to make this forum fun for everyone.

Someday,I may be sorry I said this but ET's style is full of sarcasm and not everyone will always get it. I think ET is an equal opportunity offender, and means no real harm to anyone. To ban someone because you don't agree with them is a huge mistake. This is a discussion forum, and if you run-off everyone whose opinion is not the same as yours will be pretty boring, IMHO.
Well-said. That's EXACTLY what they want...to ban anybody who dares to disagree. Mostly so they can SELL you something.
Well...far as I am concerned, it's UNAMERICAN. This country was FOUNDED by guys who said "now, wait just a minute, you can't tell me what to think or say..." and these would-be Stalinists just want you to toe the party line and consume the products they say, and praise the people they say to praise, and you should just suck it up without question.
Well...we AMERICANS don't go in for that!

I personally come to the forums here for information, jet event coverage, and tips from people who have already built or are building the the same jets that I am interested in. I also come here to see what problems and solutions that fellow modelers have run into with the many different kits on the market today before I make a decision to purchase one. My main complaint is all the B.S. I have to sort thru to find the information that I am searching for. The build threads are really helpful here and I thank RCU for their time and effort in running this site. Maybe it would save a lot of time if RCU started another Forum for the people here who thrive on flame and gossip posts. I don't post here often but I am here every day, I am sure there are a lot of people who feel the same way that I do. Just my 2 cents worth.

"Maybe it would save a lot of time if RCU started another Forum for the people here who thrive on flame and gossip posts".
Maybe RCU does need a gossip column where other people who only want to argue and cause problems can go live because I personally do not find this enjoyable to read.

About 20% of the posts in this thread are by ET so if you block him out like the earlier suggestion from one of the moderators, you can find the useful information a lot faster. Even though, as best as I can tell there is little useful information on this thread.

You should all realize however, that you guys are just feeding the fire for ET. He obviously loves the attention, but you know the old saying " if you ignore someone, eventually they will go away".

This thread now has absolutely nothing to do with the original question asked here and it is a shame that this person's thread has taken such a downward spiral. Hijacking someones thread to turn it into what this has become is disrespectful to say the least and unfortunately this seems to be happening on a regular basis!! Gary

"ORIGINAL: John Redman

I have sat and reread this post more than once, and let me say I have finally voted. I don't always read the entire postings on threads "

No, you DON'T. You missed the post where Duke said that Airpac/Skymaster WAS indeed out of line for their constant slamming of Jetlegend. And that he would ask Eric to stop. Because it was totally unprofessional and totally uncool.
But, like you said, you don't always read the entire postings on threads.

"and such, but have read a fair amount over the last few days. I honestly did not think it was as bad as I am seeing now. The light is coming on and glowing more brighter than before. Duke, Todd, and company, you guys are right."

You did not read enough. Like where he admitted they were WRONG.

"People come on and just stir the pot with a devils advocate attitude which does not help at all."

Is anybody who points out a flaw, or DARES to criticize the "cool kids" just "playing devil's advocate?"
Would pointing out that the outline of Aviation Design's F-16 is not correct, or that their F100 will not fly without slats, is that just playing devil's advocate?

"I have sent a long pm to a buddy about the topic and gave my feelings there. "

What does that have to do with anything? I just sent a long email to a 95 year old German guy in Barcelona, so what?

"Anyways, I was wrong with my first post and I am all for banning this band of bozo's!![:-]"

Band? Or just ME?

"ET, all you seem to want to do is get people spooled up in typical New York fashion. You are pushy and arogant, and a royal pain in the ass![>:] You slammed me here and that doesn't matter at all."

Not that I remember...but I guess YOU remember.

"Got thick skin and with the fact that I can fly better with my toes than you can with your fingers assures me you have no place."

Take a look at yourself. LISTEN to yourself. Stop for a moment and read that aloud.

"All you have ever showed is your Toki junk pile and my guess is you probably can't even spell turbine, let alone fly one. You should be the first to go the second time around!! Real turbine modelers unite!!"

Yeah, they are uniting in EUROPE, which is the REAL center of the turbine world, where Jetcat and BVM are not considered the be-all end-all, where guys still scratch-build, where all the engine designs come from, where guys are scratch-building one THIRD scale Hawker Hunters, and flying over 300mph, etc. etc. They are not so entranced by either Jetcat(they call them "COPYcat" over there) OR by BVM, which they see as overhyped and overpriced...and the truth of the situation is THEY are the "real turbine modellers".
The raw, outrageous PRETENSE that YOU somehow determine who the "REAL" modellers are or are not, it's staggering.
Shame on you.
I don't think ANY of the three companies you represent would appreciate your post, I don't know WHAT you were thinking.

This is going to get hot now.

Yeah, LtDan, who got banned here and stalked off to start his OWN site with "no censorship!" then promptly started to censor people!
