Default The secret is out!

Franz Waltis new Jet WM model & future kit.

The secret is out

Franz Walti's new scratch-built model for the next Jet World Masters (April 2003, South Africa) is an Aardvark / F-111.

Franz Walti's company (Jet-Tech), based in Switzerland, is one of the most well known and respected in the jet market, and his last own-design model, the big scale Dassault Aviation Rafale has been extremely successful, winning him the Jet World Master/Team Scale title last time in Thailand.

As many of you will know the mould and design of Walti's Rafale were sold to Bob Violett Models a couple of years ago, and the BVM kit of this model has also been very successful, proving Franz's excellent flying designs.

Franz's new model, the swing-wing F-111 is also pretty large at 3 metres long (118") with a wing span of 2.5m (98") and is fully-moulded from composite materials. The span, with wings swept, is just 1.2 metres (47"). The prototype is almost completed and will be test-flown shortly, powered by an AMT Netherlands Olympus.

The model will be kitted by Jet-Tech after the next Jet WM, and we will post details here for Franz when this happens on his behalf, as Franz's English is not great. Unfortunately it is not possible to post any photos yet, because Franz wants the model to be 100% complete before any images are published - which should be very soon. Price and kit details will also follow on his website early in the new year. http://www.jettech.ch/

Now to the reason for revealing the 'secret' project:-

Franz is looking for more details, colour photos, and markings etc, of his chosen paint-scheme, which I believe is one of the original production versions. The scheme is basically orange and white and the aircraft number is FB-67-159 (if I understand Franz's German text properly!!)

His second choice of colour schemes is the grey/white NASA version, tail number 39771.

I have attached images of both.

If anyone can help Franz with photos of either of these aircraft, preferably the orange/white one, or have seen them on any websites (believe me we have spent hours looking already!) please either contact me at [email protected], or at [email protected], or you can email Franz Walti directly at [email protected].

Thanking you in advance for any help you can give,

Happy Landings,

Mike Cherry

You might want to try this site as I was at the Dryden center when they had a few F-111's but sure don't remember that one. You might find what you are looking for here.

They are usually pretty good at helping you find what you need if you explain what you are doing. Hope this helps ya out.

Thats going to be one big mama for sure! My friend Tim wants one of these someday. I hope this project really does get off the ground (pardon my pun).
