Default New Jet

Here is a pick of my latest jet, a Discovery. I built it from plans I bought from Model Airplane News. I should fly it Tues or Wed. of next week. Power will be Wren 54.

Dave it weighs 19 lbs 4 oz without fuel, I had to add 1 1/2 lbs of weight to the nose. The color isn't very original, but I like the it.

George,
No I do not. I have a similar type airframe, BTE Models Reaction 54 at 18 1/4 pounds with similar dimensions. I have a P60 at 14 pounds thrust and I know that combination flies fine, yours should too. Verticals will be somewhat limited (for jet standards anyway). Only advice I can give is to use an FOD screen with the bottom mounted turbine. This is one of the reasons I went with the R54 as the turbine is mounted above the wing.

I've seen videos of the Discovery fly and you'll have a blast.....Once you get over flying that much money!

Well..........
It's George's fault. He has had at least half dozen uneventfull flights now. The darn thing flys very well. Talk about a trainer. Hopefully he'll come here and tell us how he likes it.

Here you are Dean
It does fly very well, it lands nice and slow the flaps work very well with no pitch change. It fly’s just like I thought it would. A no brainier to fly. Your knees aren’t knocking like some of my other jets. George
