My New A7 ARF for Wren 44
Hi A7 lovers,
Check this out at www.jethangar.com's website. I was there at the AMA show ans saw it. This is the new A7 ARF that was introduced by Jet Hangar Hobbies, Inc. at the AMA Show a few weeks back. It's got pre-hinged flaps, ailerons, and gear doors installed and scale landing gear struts included in the ARF as an intro offer. I got myself signed up for one of this on the waiting list.
I already have a Wren 44 on a JHH Sabre and will take it out and install it on this A7.
Is there Anyone who has experienced building one of these and flying experience? On their ads, it's said it flies like a turbine trainer. I am going through waiver training process on my SM F15. I think this is a great first, 2nd or the first few jets. It's high-wing and the scale flat bottom airfoil should make this plane easy to fly. Any experiences on this?
It's small enough to fit in my SUV without taking the wings off, just like my little sabre.
What's your comments on this?
If you are a good builder, please let me know, I am looking for someone who can put together one of this to RTF at reasonable price. I love flying and hate building.
regards,
F15 Viper

RE: My New A7 ARF for Wren 44
Hi guys,
I noticed in mikedenilins' post that there was a misspelled link to our website, should be www.jethangar.com
For those asking about availability and pricing, we are looking at April to May timeframe for release and an introductory price of $795 which includes the scale oleo struts. The initial paint scheme will be Edwards AFB white and red (externally painted) with the aircraft also available in primer. It is designed around the MW-44 and MW-54 turbine engines. Though designed for turbine, we do plan on having a limited number of ARF kits available for ducted fan installation as well.
This ARF is an iteration of our proven A-7 design and encompasses the scale features of the original built up kit. This includes the 100% scale outline and airfoils, pre-hinged gear doors, and pre-hinged and installed flight surfaces including flaps.

Vin,
The airplane is ideal for the mw-44 engine. That being said, the airplane will handle the larger engines just fine. Just increases your AUW and wing loading which should not be too drastic. Fuel tank arrangment is in the works. Engine placement is such that there should be ample room for fuel. The pictures are of the first prototype which we are working on getting flying with the MW-44 "GOLD."

Hi Buck,
No problem, but you will have to wait after Doug's got his stick time on this. All these are under the assumption that I manage to have some one put it together for me.
Doug and I are going to fly my SM F15 this weekend, same place. I got in as a member already and got the noise level checked out OK. Are ou going to be there?

Thanks guys for your interest in the A-7 and the positive feedback. We will be keeping our website up to date with all of the information necessary...which will include adding flight video when that time comes. The next ARF is going to be officially announced at the Toledo trade show in April. Sorry, no telling what it is yet. I can confirm that both the F-4 and Panther are planned as ARFs.
@ donniercjet, we are still finalizing the pricing, but it is likely the ducted fan version will be in the same price range as the turbine version. The DF version actually requires a couple more parts (ie. the two piece fibreglass exhaust liner). I have sent you a pm with information how to get on the list.

Yes, A Cougar, I just bought this from Doug for my brand new Wren 54. Do you think Wren 44 is ok for this one too? it's got 60 oz of tank. Any idea how many minutes I can get out of 60oz fuel on the Wren 44 electric start.

Mike
The Wren 44 will comfortably fly a model with a dry weight of up to 12 lbs.
You will get about 16 minutes on the Wren from 60oz. I would reduce the tank size to 32oz (still 8 minutes ) to reduce take off weight particularily if you will be flying at high ambient temperatures or high altitudes.
