The gray one is mine. It was a kit I built and painted. The cockpit is from Avonds for their F-15. I had it in a Avonds F-15 from 12-13yrs ago it has been retired for a long time. I believe its like $85.00 from Aeroloft design. I also have missle's and external tanks to go on later.

Hi All,
I have a JL F15 kit in white primer and a SM F15 with Grey Cammo. The Grey is difficult to see in the afternoon hazy daytime in Southern California. I plan to paint the centerline fuel tank with bright color. My other option is to put the white JL F15's wings on the SM F15. They look interchangable. The white wings will be painted with bright strips to enhace visibility. Any suggestions or flying hints for flying planes with air superiority cammoflage? They disappear fast.
I have an Artes Falcon on the SM F15, plenty of power and easy start.
Mike

Did the intake ducting fit ok on the JL F-15? I have one and the fit was terrible.....I will have to go in and build up/fill aprox 5/8" gap between the fuse intake and the actual intake duct on the bottom front edge of the intake scoop....just curious if anyone else has had this problem......

HI Jeremy,
That's a nice choice. It should show up well against blue sky. I have noticed that the main wheels on the full scale look bigger's than the SM F15's wheels. What's the right diameters of the main wheels if the JL and SM are 1/9 scale or 1/10 scale?
Thanks,
Mike

Yes the intake was not the best of fit. I filled mine with epoxy and microbaloons. The build was pretty general nothing out of the ordinary. Only 2 things I did not care for. The intake fit and how the canopy attaches latch wise. I used a belcrank attached to the latch and a piece of music wire coming out of the side of the canopy. Push wire to release canopy latch.
Other than that Beaitiful kit could not ask for better.
Servos I used. Aileron/Hitec digital 5245 76oz ,Stab/hitec digital 5645 139oz ,Rudder/Expert 300L 48oz ,everything else/Expert 517 65oz
I almost did the Japaneese camo scheme Black with olivedrab.

RE: JL line up
Tim, I looked at the 5245's for the ailerons......thought the were just a whisker too fat to fit in the wing.....how did yours fit? I'll have to go measure again......

Tim,
I found with the intakes they had to be pushed forward and and then trimmed to get a good fit, as for the canopy I just added a hatch latch on the front of the nose and a mount at the rear so it is easy to open and close.
Cheers
