Doggoneit, I launched the bleeping msg *before* I was finished with it *then* realized what I'd done ... [;} I want a new E-Start and I'm doing the math to figure out if it's cost effective to ditch what I have and get a new one or bite the bullet and have it retro'd (not cheap). I'm thinking I sell the turbine then buy a fresh one the way I want it.
You guys were very helpful with info - I didn't make my intentions clear and I'm sorry for any confusion that caused.
Vinnie has a good point tho - but I just HATE the hassle of the bleeping air tank.

Default RAM Upgrades

Hi,

The RAM website now has the price list for all the upgrades and conversions available. Sorry to say the 750F cannot be upgraded to the Remote Start system.

Tony thanks for the "bad news" - it makes my decision much easier since there is no math to do. And I see the starter upgrade (looking at the 1/10/02 price sheet) for the 500R is not a total giveaway - had no idea a motor changeout would be that expensive; I'm sure I'm missing something.

Thanks again for the pointers. Cheers.

Default Starter upgrade

The upgrade to the new Starter System is not just a motor swap. The new system replaces the inlet cover, motor housing, housing supports, bendix assembly, and spinner nut. I believe the engine has to be disassembled and the compressor modified for the new spinner nut. I know it does on the larger engines but not absolutely sure about the 500. So it's a pretty involved swap.

The new starter is a very high quality unit. It's an all CNC machined, metal assembly with an easily removed electric motor. This makes the o-ring very easy to replace, if necessary. However, my 500 with this system has had over 200 starts on the original o-ring.
