I am looking for an F-16 ducted fan kit, this will be my first DF model, but i am a seasoned flyer. Any suggestions?

Hi Scole,

As for your first D/F kit I would definitely go for the Philip Avonds kit. It's reasonably priced, has all the "forgot to buy" parts included, easy to built and for sure very easy to fly. And a very nice benefit is that when ever you decide to go for turbo power the turbine conversion can be done in two days! Philip's son flew this bird for a year with Ramtec fan and logged about 80 flights. Because the fan versions weight can be kept low you still have plenty power for this size of a model. (210 cm long, pitot tube excluded.)

I will be glad supplying you additional info or contact Philip himself at:

I got mine (deluxe turbine kit) with all the goodies for just under $2400 shipped. Love the kit, outstanding quality.

Sorry mike, Haven't got any additional pic's yet as I have loads of work on other stuff. In the meanwhile I try to fly the beast as much as possible, still in it's primer color. I will be glad to help you out when questions arise.

At the moment I'm upgrading my F-15, new homemade Kevlar fuel cells, redesigned internals and a lot of things to improve scale even more like centreline fuel tank, missile pylons and sidewinders and may extra's. (Need more points on statics.)
Further I'm getting my new homebuilt 28 lbs turbine ready to run, same size and weight as my two KJ-66 turbines. You see, no time to take a nap!

PS; Do you no any nice sidewinders?

Gerald

Sorry, no joy on the sidewinders. Sounds like you are one busy man, hope the turbine works out as planned. What competition are you entering your F-15, are there plans for scaling out the F-16?

Mike
