Default skymaster hawk engine mounts

Hi all, when trying to mount my simjet 2200, the front cover hits the the former supporting the intake (which i have already cut away) stopping the engine from being mounted far enough forward to create a gap between the exhaust cone and the thrust tube. In fact the cone sits about an inch inside the thrust tube. Hummm loss of thrust? I am thinking of useing the jetcat spacers provided to lift the engine so it will fit into the intakes and allow me to move the engine forward.
This will alter the thrust line but only by about 1/4 inch i suppose. Is this the way to go or should i leave it as it is.

Regards steve
