I am about to fly my twin EDF YF-22 and on the first prototype interference was a problem. I was thinking of using the whip type antenna on the new one. Would a piece of piano wire connected to a short piece of the antenna work just as well as the commercial items. I would keep the overall length the same.

I've used it many times - worked fine for me - even stuck one of those ball heads from modelling pins on the end to stop sticking the point end in painful places...

Pick yourself up a revolution base load whip from Horizon Hobbies. About 7 " long and mount is insulated. I get outstanding range checks with EDF and Turbine. Doug
