Greetings all! A couple of questions...
1) I looked and found a whole threat about Combat Models and how crappy their customer service is... However, all the posts are like from 2002 or 2003.... I have to think that maybe something has changed over the past few years? Anyone deal with them recently?
2) I am looking for an A-10... I would prefer D/F. I know their are a couple of kits out there for turbine, but I dont have the $2000 for the kit and another $4000+ for the engines... not to forget the custom landing gear to trick it out... I have dabbled with electric and have not had a fun experience. Combat Models is the only one I've been able to find for D/F.
I did buy the someone-Miller plains, so if it comes to it, I'll try my hand at scratch building.... But I haven't done anything like that yet
So, any ideas? Thanks!

Jim,
I've never seen a Combat Models A-10 built as a ducted fan. They are designed to pusher prop planes, complete made using expanded bead polystyrene. They do fly nice as a pusher. They also can take a beating because of the styrofoam. Good luck if you buy one.
Hope that helps some....

Hi: Jim
I have built the combat models A-10 as a D/F. I used Kress fans on two OS. 25 eng. The engs. ran great but the Kress fans only had about 2Lb of thrust. The jet would fly but ( would come in last in a one jet race.) That was about 8 yrs ago. The C.B A10 Flys Great as an Elect. jet. with the new 90mm elec. fans and lipo batt. you can push almost a 1 to 1 thrust. .

Don't try to build the combat A-10 in DF type,at least the 0.25 engine DF! I have built one with YS-45 pusher and the finished weight is 3.5 kgw!It is the same weight as his bigger brother F-16N.Because its over-weight tail,I need nearly 1000g to balance the nose!If you
built the DF type,I believe it will exacerbate!!After finishing it fly very fast and it is suitable to be the Jet trainer.Perhaps you can try the electric DF because the electric DF effeciency improve greatly recently!

yes, indeed, it is a great looking bird... my only problems is, it seems he no longer makes it and its electric... i was hoping for nitro d/f.... oh well, i have the george miller plans, but i have never scratch built before, so im a little worried about that
but i may have to take the plunge... gotta lean somewhere/sometime, eh? thanks!
