Fuel Mixing Question for all you Kero Burners
Hi guys, I'm mixing up fuel for my AMT 180 Mercury - it says in the manual to mix 5% oil to the kero - I'm thinking this is kind of a small amount - is this what everyone else uses (5% mix to the fuel?) I'm using Aeroshell 560 - better than Aeroshell 500...
Many thanks, love the feedback...

Yep. Plenty. Unless you have a Wren then it drops to 1.5 Percent. Too much oil and the injector tubes start to accumilate soot and clog up.

Not quite that low, Terry - it's not 1.5% but 2.5 to 3% for a Wren. The smaller engines are better with this ratio.

turbine oil was designed to lubricate jet engines and change oil
we just blow it out of the exhaust
so it does not realy matter wich turbine oil you use
it is always a questions of dolarres...........
