We have customers with a turbine powered locomotive, a road-legal motorcycle, several boats including a hydroplane with twin two-stage turbines and a model of "Bluebird" belonging to Gina Campbell (daughter of Donald), and miniature tractors. Oh, and there is also our Jet-powered skateboard which appeared on a children's TV programme. I haven't asked their owners for permission so I can't post all the pics here, but I hope they will appear on our website - we are launching a new version of the website soon.

you would either need insurance, or work out a written contract with the site owners which exempt them from liability if you would sustain injury for any reason .... Hmmmmm i guess you don't fall under the AMA insurance do you ?

Here are some great shots of my twin jet sailplane at the NAS Ft. Worth airshow last weekend. These were shot by one of the pyro guys, so they are mixed in with a lot of fireball and Blue Angels shots. Great stuff!

Try Sue Amey at Insurance Technologies & Programs. They initially insured my jet sailplane. It was expensive, but mostly because of the hull coverage. Straight liability shouldn't be too bad. Bob

I think the coolest one of all time, is the turbine powered beer cooler - not just for the project itself, but also for the wonderful dry sense of humour that the writer has: http://www.asciimation.co.nz/beer/

Abqflier,

what is your glider classed as I.E a powerd plane or a SLMG ? only asking as in the UK all model planes EXEPT GLIDERS have to go through the 20KG scheme

i have a turbine powered ASK 21 model that is 21Kg but the LMA are saying i can not fly it because it is a powered plane not a self launching motor glider, whats your thoughts.

Here is a pic of the GLIDER

My glider uses 2 model turbine engines (45 lb thrust each), but it's full scale and I'm in it! It has an empty weight of 390 lb. and a takeoff weight of 660 lb. (That's 180 for me , 15 for parachute, 60 for fuel, 10 for wingtip pyro.)

If it helps your cause any, the FAA calls mine a motorglider. No power license, type rating or multi-engine rating required.

I think I've seen photos of your ASK. Do you have an augmenter tube on the engine?
