Anyone using the new JR 9303 for their jet use? I had a JR 10x but sold it this past winter. I was thinking about buying another 10x but an online hobby shop guy asked me why I wanted to pay an additional $600.00 for an extra channel when I could spend half the price on a better radio with more functions. I only know what I read on the Horizon Hobbies website about the 9303 and it seems like a good system but I would like to get the "straight scoop" from some fellow jet jocks that actually use this new system. I have too much JR Equipment to switch to any other brand, so I am not interested in comparing Futaba/Hitec/Airtronics to JR please. Thanks in advance for replies.

I have used the 9303 in a few of my customer's set up's and it works great. No problem with any kind of programing you just dont have the tenth channel. Has plenty of mixes for most jets and it has servo speed control for flap or gear functions as well as a three position flap switch for landing and take off. I am not saying its better than any other radio thats out but it will work for alot of planes.

I've used the 9303 for over a year and have had it in 4 jets and many prop planes. It will work fine for most jets but some of the more complex planes will be a little bit of stretch requiring Matchboxes, Equalizers, Xpanders, etc. to get there from here. I find I've maxed it out most of the time, using all the mixers, all the channels and most or all the functions possible to use at one time. There are many pluses and many minuses. I don't think it's the awesome, end all radio JR would have you believe, but then again, it's my primary jet radio, and, all in all, I like it. Just don't try to use the Button for anything but the Timer (if you have it active). I don't know how many times I've been out of gas/deadstick until I realized the Button was turning my timer off and on when using it for smoke.
It's way lighter than the 10X and more comfortable for me personally. It has most of the features and mixers but lacks the 10th channel. It looks like they took the 10X software, made some improvements and other changes, improved the menus, stripped out a bunch of things, and mucked a bit with switch assignability (though still lacking dearly in my opinion). I think the menu is easier to navigate and I like the rotary encoder, but I hate turning the radio off and on to get to Device Select & Wing Type menus.
First thing to do is throw the Tx battery away (600 mah) and replace it with something having decent capacity. I put a 2500 mah Nimh in mine. Good now for a whole weekend of hard flying.
As rcjet said, it will work for a lot of planes.

I use mine in two jets, plus about 8 other planes.
No complaints here.
Easy to program.
I like the flight modes, one switch to go from mild to wild or anything else you can think of.

Any idea when they plan to release the synthesized version? This will be my first new radio in almost 15 years (I know all there is to know about the JR X347). I figured if I was going to upgrade I might as well go synthesized. Horizon hobbies was saying late May Early June, now they are saying mid June and that is if I am lucky enough to get one after backorders are filled.
Anyone know what the hold up is? Any reservations about buying one of the first run of a new product?
Thanks
Anthony

That's a good point, I know that the module and the 2100 series receivers have been out for a while so I figure that only the TX will be new. For $100.00 I can get a synthesized module for the standard 9303, but I would lose the cost savings of purchasing the TX and RX together.
Perhaps they are working on the software?
Thanks
