Default Yellow F-18 twin brakes, Help!!

I have problems with the F-18 brakes, a have a system that should brake with a small piece of hose.

Does any of you know a good alternative for these brakes?

All help is much appreciated, greetings Han

Yellow makes an updated brake system that is legit, or you could go with the Glennis scale wheels and brakes.

Best of luck,
Joe

Hi,

Joe's right. The current brake system for this bird is righteous. Those fuel-tubing brakes are not up to snuff for turbine use (if at all). I'll be happy to set you up with some. Just give me a call or an email.

The newer model brakes (been sold for about 18 months now) for the 18 are made either by BVM or under contract from a BVM design. They work great and are easy to install with your current gear. You can purchase them direct from YAI.

you can also use BVM F-4 wheels and brakes with minor modifications as a short term fix. by minor I mean minimal grinding to get the brake hub snug against the lower leg.

good luck

buck

can't wait to reacquire the big bird and start the project once I get my feet on the ground out here.

Thanks Guys,

Will order the brake hubs at Yellow first, after that, if unsuccesfull, I could try the F-4 wheels.

Greetings Han

Hey,

You won't need to use the F-4 ones. These new brakes work flawlessly. Yours are on the way.
