The Patriot is indeed available through Tower Hobbies. Another really good one is the Great Planes F-4 if you can find one. You will have to pick one of these up at a swap meet or in the for sale section. They are sometimes listed on EBAY as well. Another good one that is discontinued is the Direct Connection F-18.

If you can't be bothered with too much building, there is an ARTF F-4. There are also a few plans for pushers and pullers. I've seen plans for a MIG 25, F-15, Vigilante and a Frogfoot. Let me know if you want details of the company that do the above plans(it's here in the UK).

The Extreme Speed Prop forum would be the place to go to see discussions on this sort of model.
The Patriot would appear to have sold out at Tower. Other places may still have stock.
As well as the ones listed above, Cermark has an F-20 ARF and
Direct Connection (www.directconnectionrc.com) has an F-20 ARC.

Dave,
I wouldn't call it new. I have one in my shop that I built about four years ago when the kit first came out. It is a good, solid flyer....very smooth and fast. Easy to build, and has loads of room inside for the radio installation.
Mine has an OS .61 long stroke and retracts.

I have a Prop driven (.60) Gnat that I picked up at a swap meet a few years back. It is suprising close to scale with a fiberglass fuse, flaps and retracts. Haven't flown it though, as it seems very heavy. I have no idea what kit it is, as I received no docs with it..

i was thinking of buying on of the cermark f-20 tigershark prop jets, i think the .40 would fly just like a patriot and the .60 may also. Has anyone had any of these? They look to be good for a sport plane just to have around.

If you don't mind scratch building, check out the line of Pavel Bosak's propjets.....Mirage F1, Jaguar, F-4, Mirage III etc, etc.
I built the F1 and it was a missile (while it lived), and I have the plans for the Mirage III (.60 sized pusher). The Mirage III is a pretty decent looking semi-scale model.

I have experience with a lot of prop jets but i did have the Direct Connection F-20 tigershark (ARF). which flew great and had alot of ducted fan feel , it does take more runway than most propjets
and landing you'll just have to feel it for your self.
over all a great aircraft and cheap , makes a good ducted fan trainer (speaking for myself and others may agree with me ).
best of luck to you.
