Yes , you can still get ducted fan jets, there are always complete ready to fly ducted fan jets in the classified sections. as well as parts. but if I may suggest, if you can afford it, got right into turbines. there are many trainer type turbine jets, you could get in the air with used equipment for around $2500 and up. if you have any questions, feel free to ask,

Mark

I echo what Mark said. Now that I own & am flying several different turbine jets with a forth currently on the work table ,if I had it to do over again I would bypassed DF jets all together as well! That was a very frustrating time in my life. now that I am flying turbine jets & I look back on the DF days I don't miss it one bit-all the headaches with tuning, plugs, messes, etc etc Now that I see/hear them fly damn are they loud & annoying LOL.But this is just my personal observation!

But like Mark said & many others would offer the same advice,if you can afford turbine jets now do yourself a favor skip the DF stage. You will be happier that you did.You can get Kangaroos and a couple other different airframe RTF with turbines in the RCU classifieds for 3 grand & under. They pop up all the time on here in that price range.Your gonna spend atleast a grand or more getting a DF airframe up & going esp. by the time you factor in all the plugs, fuel and all.14.00 bucks a gallon for DF fuel versus 2.99 for Kero.Go out for a nice full weekend of flying with multiple flights-do the math LOL
