Default Ducted Fan in the UK

Hi
Can anyone tell me what fuel people use to fly their ducted fans with in the UK and where do you get it from?

Most people including me used Wildcat 5% until ModelTechnics stopped making it, I currently use (this with an OS91) ModelTechnics Bekra 5% with 6% added Klotz oil, more nitro is unecessary. Mike

I seem to remember that I was recommended to use Model Technics Irvine Contest 10% but I may be wrong.

I was lucky enough to have some Aerosave oil so I'm still using that and straight methanol.

Davie,
I used Formula Irvine before Wildact came along, always ran a bit hot. I use my current mix after speaking to the guy at ModelTechnics, seems to work just as well as Wildcat, a tad less smoke is all. Since noone in my area uses the Bekra mix I just get Jan at Swindon Models to get me in a box of 4galls at a time plus a some Klotz. Fanz are getting very rare, shame as they are great fun once you suss out a good set up. Mike

Hi
Looks like Bekra with a dash of Klotz is the way to go. Now all I have to do is figure out how I can get my hands on some. As I live in the north of Scotland this could be a bit of a challenge. I know a friend in Ireland who can get me some but that doesnt help for the immediate future. Does anyone know of a shop in Scotland or the North of England who might stock Bekra fuel or be willing to get it for me until I can stock up via Davie.

I will be there at lunchtime on the 22nd . . . you have been warned. See you there if you are around (about 12-1pm)

BTW: does anyone know where I can hire, borrow, beg, steal (basicly loan) a scale jet any scale any type of model will do, for the weekend of Sat 22nd-Tue 25th in the Swindon-Stratford-Worcester-Oxford area as Ryanair won't play ball that weekend to allow me to bring the big yellow F-18 over . . .can't even bring the Mick Reeves Reaper (mind you that aint scale I know) . . . . Airlines . . .Blah ! ! ! Oh what a safe and secure world we now live in . . . aint it great [:'(]

Again, scale Jet needed for Sat 22nd-Tue 25th . . . . . . .

PM me or email [email protected] if you can help out. Thats me on the right. Have TX will travel . . . .
