Here is a quote on the system trouble from mark (sys admin)

We were down for a few hours today due to a database connection error. I believe I know the cause but was of course not in to catch it until several hours had passed and I returned. All should be working ok now and I'm keeping an eye on the system.

things seem ok now...it only happened because I had to go out for a few hours so of course that would be the time a problem would occur if you know what I mean :-)

All under control now and reviewing logs and watching system parameters and looks ok.

Post away...4 hours of catching up to do now!

Marc- ADMIN is great! I sent an e-mail asking what was up with the site and he got back to me really quick. I can live with a little problem like this so long as you get some info as to what's going on.
Unlike other communities, I feel like a part of this one.

Marc was extremly nice about the situation.

Wart Hog,

Thanks...my goal is for that 99.99% uptime and I expect it to be fast when we are up those 4 nines!

I'll always keep you guys posted should anything ever occur....but I hope that it's not too often.

On the bright side we have about 300 people on now and the new server is running at extremely low load levels (translation...workload is light).

Other than backups & the recent hardware upgrade this glitch was the first "unscheduled" downtime we have seen since opening our doors Dec. 1st. Had I been at the computer I could have fixed it within 2 minutes but was out for a few hours when it occured.

I had actually run a server for almost 1.5 years without a single reboot! I'm talking millions of visitors and over 100 million "hits" so by my standards this one happened too quickly.

Back to work....

Wow, this is strange, I can reply to this thread but can't post a new one................I keep getting a script error message. It won't let me start to type in the message box..........I get the warning, I then answer(click) yes to keep running and the box goes away, but when I start to type again it re-appears..............it's buggin' the crap out of me!!!!!

Are you still having this problem? Email or PM me the error message if so. I was playing with some javascript last night which could have caused some weird errors during my testing.

How is it today?
