Default Multi photo upload question

Hey..any of you guys in the past have problems uploading multiple photos to a post? I am aware of a problem in the last few weeks which prevented users from uploading more than 1 image or any image to the servers but I believe I fixed this one today. What I am curious about is if other image uploads failed months back where you could upload 3 or 6 photos for example but just not all 12 at once and if you got some "cryptic" error message when trying. If so then I may be able to resolve that as well but need to know if it was ever an issue in the last year or two.

Brian,

How big is your typical photo that you upload? when it fails do you recall what sort of error you get or can you try doing 2 now and copy/paste the error here? I might be able to fix this completely today if it is what I think it is

Hi Mark,

Over the last couple weeks for me, it has been timing out the upload page, & says it cant find the site.

Typical photo upload size was around 2 meg per picture.

In the last 2 days it has been ok for me,

Thanks,
Tony

p.s. If it does it again, then I will post it here..

thanks. I implemented the fix now on 2 of the 4 front end servers. If anyone encounters problems please note the error and if possible cut/paste it here. then if you can go to the community section here http://www.rcuniverse.com/community and at the very bottom of the page you will see some light colored text (you may need to highlight it) with RCU1, RCU2, RCU3 or RCU4. If you can make note of which server you are on and note that in your post that will help.

Once I get this confirmed and fixed then everyone should be able to upload images without problems including doing up to 12 at a time with auto resize. this should eliminate lots of scrolling with the 1 pic per post issue I've seen some use to skirt the problem.

Joe,

what is the total size of all your 12 images? also when it fails please do the check for which server you are on when it happened so I can fix settings on that server. Instructions are right on post #5 above how to tell which server you are on. I'm trying to get each server to the proper setting to allow images of the sizes we would typically see here for all 12 at a time.

weasel33 - I would expect long upload times if the file sizes are large, your upload speeds are limited in any way, etc. most isp's have much faster downloads as opposed to uploading speed. For example I can download here at 12Mbps yet upload is just 1Mbps.
