Default F 106

Look at http://acsip.com/~dgu/

This is Darryl Usher's site. As far as I know he produces the only F-106 kit on the market.

There was a d/f kit that was produced a while ago, it's smaller than Darryl's, not sure who made it. I've seen a couple of kits on ebay over the years.

Darryl's kit was originally designed for ducted fan and has flown successfully with d/f power, although now it's been modified for turbines.

Default Hi Butch!

My avatar in the corner is from Butch's parts. It's a nice size. Mine has a RAM500 in it - mine could use a pound more thrust, and a pound less weight! But I guess that goes for all models...

I've got one just like Ron S's(hi Ron), but it's powered by Dynamax fan and an OS 91.

Mine weighs approx 14 lb and flys well on fan power.

Hi,
Detail and Scale just re-released their book on the SIX, it has scale drawings.
If you can find it, Famous Aircraft of the World, a Japanese publication similar to Koku Fan, had a volume devoted to the 106, with excellent drawings.
You can also purchase the 1/48th Monogram plastic kit of the SIX and use it for outlines and cross sections. Monogram never re-released it in the US, but recently did in Japan (?), but the kit is on e-bay all the time.
Regards,
Jon

I think I used Detail & Scale. I needed a 1/9 size to get the fuel
tanks, wheels and DF all in the same space.

Jon,
In case you're looking for a plastic 1/48 scale 106, I bought one from eBay (Monogram) and paid collector's prices (OW! :stupid: ). I think they'll be rereleasing it soon again, though. They have released the 100, 101, 102, 105. So it's coming up... I just ordered the D&S book also, that has just been rereleased.

Default Monogram F-106

Monogram is in the process of re-releasing the "Century Series". The F-100. F-101 and F102 were recently released... the F-106 isn't far behind.

Thanks
Craig

Hi Ron,
The next release is the F-105G.
I have 4 of the original kits plus one I'm building. I've been buying decals, got most of them I guess. While researching markings I bought a Koku-Fan that had a spread on the 177th ANG as they were phasing out the SIX, and there were pictures of 59-0023, the one I'm modeling, which is now at Dover AFB, having survived the drone program. There's a few pictures at:
http://www.planepix.com/
for anyone who's interested.
I know about ebay's prices! The D&S was going around $80.00! Give me a break! I got the original when it came out, saw the new one, just has a few more color shots, but a LOT cheaper. The prices will go down now!
Recently there was an original -1 that went for $875!
I've got a xerox of the -1 and the -1-2, which is the performance part of the -1, and it's fine for what I'm doing! I quit bidding at $600. I thought it would be cheaper than that because there was a B-58-1 that went for $500 and that's a lot rarer plane. Oh well...
Regards
Jon

I just ordered the Detail and Scale by Burt Kinzey for $15.00 bucks from Amazon. Did I get the right one?
