Default Engine install question...

All,

I am installing a Rhino in a SM F-18F with a TAM pipe and need to know what the distance should be between the pipe inlet and the end of the engine. Eric told me but I forgot.

For some reason, 3/4" is ringing a bell.

Any know the answer?

Thanks,

Beave

I don't know what Artes says but my AMT NL manual says 1/2" to 5/8" (actually gives it in mm) but i converted it. Hope this helps. Richard

I've searched all the RCU postings on the subject and 1/2" to 3/4" seems to be the range most use. I used 1/2" for my Artes Falcon/Gripen and it worked fine.

Each application is a bit different. I suggest that you contact Eric Clapp at JetArtes Gulf Coast, or post the question in the Turbine Clinic.

In testing, we obtained the best result at 40mm (1 1/2") from the exhaust cone to the beginning of the main diameter of the pipe, not including the bell mouth
