Darcey, Ian is right on . You should make the call. With the plane weighing 28 to 29 lbs I want to change what I said about the distance to let it run. At about 200 feet gently pull full back on the elevator to rotate. I have heard that this plane has a very narrow window on the cg. I think Eric has one he flys all the time. He could tell you where his cg is. Then he could tell you where the planes is.....LOL..... Good luck.....Ray Blair. My e-mail is [email protected] any time you need any thing............

F18DB102,
I talked to Darcy yesterday just before they were leaving. From what he said the F18 performed beautifully and all went welll, I'm sure he will be on to fill in the rest.

Darcy's computer is down so I'll give an eyewitness report. We flew the Hornet on Thursday to get it ready for the Kingman airshow and Darcy got 4 great flights without incident. We went to the airshow on Saturday morning and the four of us all had great flights. (Darcy, Jens, Mark and me), the crowd loved it! Darcy had a picture perfect take off at show center turned on the smoke and went for it. Loops, rolls, low pepper passes, ect. It was hard to believe he was flying his first scale jet with only 5 previous flights. The landing was nose high and butter. The rest of us also had great flights and lots of fun. The second day didn't go as well (for me at least) We only got one flight each and then got grounded because of wind. I had a gear problem on my Tam F-16 and as I was setting up to land in the designated emerg. landing zone (in the weeds away from spectators) I noticed a cop car parked middle of the zone. (where did that come from?) As I was walking across the runway to get past the cop car I got a little too far out and too slow and you can figure the rest out. A Tam gear failsafe would have saved the jet! All in all great fun especially watching the Royal Maces Hornet. Darcy you da man!

What a great time we had at the Kingman Airshow...
Hal, Mark, Jens, thanks for showing off for the crowd, they all loved us!
It was an Honor to represent the entire RC Hobby...
The F-18 flew awesome! It was a treat to fly and it performed flawless, even at the Alt of close to 3500'+ it still flys nice with the 120...
As Hal mentioned we all got to fly Sat in the morning and afternoon, but Sunday afternoon got blown out bad and our time slot came and went...
Cheers to my buds for giving it 110%
Darcy Wingo
SM F-18/E 6 flights and counting

Thanks a million Carlos, I really wanted to attend the Superman but with this airshow to do there was no way to do it...
This F-18/E is really impressive to see fly, we all got a ton of complements from the public, they were amazed that these were real Jet A burning turbine engines. We also got the attention of a few of the full scale pilots that were also performing.
This guy did some real fast fly bys!
