Hello!
I'v been reading through the threads posted, and have hopefuly learned a little about jets, but reading and flying are two different things.
One thing I've learned is we ( those new to jets) seem to ask the same questions, My first jet is bought, built, and flown, so those questions are behind me. The help I seek is in flying tips,
After reading the threads from the different groups wanting a place to fly,My thought is this,Our feild in Shreveport has had jets meets before, if a few of the groups are willing to come fly in Shreveport, I will work to get a weekend from the club, which is very open to the idea. The invitation is open even if the guys from the closer areas want to come and fly anytime.
We have some intrest in jets, and a little "demo" might help to show off the talent and skill put into these aircraft.
Thanks
Kevin

Kevin,
Vernon Montgomery and I have been over to the last two Big brd meets with our Jets. Mississippi Afterburner is in May and Top Gun is the last weekend in April but if you would make it mid month I feel pretty sure you would get the Mississippi Gang there.

Just wanted to alert you of the date of the Central Texas Jet Rally. April 12 - 13. I'm sure if the timing was right, some of the Austin Gang would attend your event.

Sounds like I need to get to work!
Will try for mid May,I saw the date for Austin, and would like to have David and Vernon, they are the two sparking the intrest here( Thanks for the help in Waco).
Does thirty pilots sound like a number to plan for? What about the guys from South Lousiaina?
Thanks for the input!

I would imagine you could get Eddie, Mark, and Phil there, as well as the guys from New Orleans. We came to the last jet rally that ya'll had there about three years ago. I also know the Houston guys have made it there in the past as well.
BTW what were you flying at Waco?

Since we are talking about jet events in this area I was wondering where some places are that common for jet flying. I will be visiting Southern Louisiana soon. I will be flying into New Orleans, but do not mind a bit of driving.

I live in Slidell which is about 50 minutes east of the N.O. airport on I-10, just across the lake. I try to fly every weekend, sometimes in Slidell, but more often up in Lumberton, MS. Lumberton is another hour further than Slidell. Eddie and Phil live in Baton Rouge and sometimes fly at the New Orleans field. Let me know if you want to come jpoin us some weekend!

MS Afterburner is the last weekend in May 30,31 and June 1st. Top Gun is the weekend before your plans and I am competing this year. I won't be able to be gone two weekends in a row so the 3rd would not be good for me. I do want to make it if you are going to have an event, I always like flying at Shreveport.

David, that is FANTASTIC that you are going to compete in Top Gun this year. Go get 'em!!!
Kaos, I will only be flying one day, Sat or Sun, depending upon which day the weather looks better and which day Richard has to work, etc. I can not yet say that day will be Sunday, but if it is, you are welcome to join us. I will almost certainly be the only jet at Lumberton unless David or Dennis makes the trip there. It is a lot longer for them so I am likely the only one. Eddie, Phil, how 'bout the New Orleans field?

Hey Kevin,
Its your shreveport budy David, I would try sometime in June. It seems April and May are booked. I think that the meet should be when no other events are on the weekend before or after.
My F-15 is still sitting with customs.
How is your jet decision coming. Are you going to hold out for the Yellow kit.
Mabey I will have my Roo flying by our meet
Although I have been thinking of selling it for the Avonds F-16.
Let me know how I can help...
Talk to you later,

Your right May is looking full, but It would be nice to do it before it gets to hot.
I want the f-15, but information is slow coming right now, but I 'm trying to hold out.
Thanks for the offer of help! Will let you know as soon as we get a date nailed down.
See ya at the field!

My opinion.....for what it is worth is that there should be at least 2-3 weeks between events. The Mississippi Gang tends to come to an event early (Thursdays) and I know I can't do that every weekend.

BTW the Shreveport event used to be held in June.

Kevin, this is Rob, I think the first or second week in June will not conflict with anyone. I just read that the Dfw rodeo will be at the end of June so I dont think this will be a problem. If we can seal the exact date in the next few days I think everybody will be able to make it. Please let us all no what you think.
Thanks
