Thanks for the nice selection of early photos....couple of my homies are down there....(one of them is the owner of the black Eurosport...Paul Jacques)......they have been conspicuously silent so far, so they must be too busy having fun.....

So, I here from a friend at the event that this was a $70.00 waste of time.
So what is the real deal with Superman this year and why is everybody so silent about it this year?
I don't want to put down an event, just want to know for myself if I should put one on my next year vacation list (because my job is carzy and my vacation time is important to me to have fun with!!!)
If you would feel better answering in private, send your responce to [email protected]

Honestly it wasnt very much fun. I think the problem was the runway we were on. The conditions didnt make for favorable flying. The sun was never out of your face and there was a crosswind. I believe it was an east to west taxiway. We should have been on a different runway. I think most people flew just to say they did, not because they really wanted to or were having much fun. Hardly anyone flew wednesday or thursday i was there. I heard Jerry spoke of moving to another runway for next year which will necessary for a successful and fun event. It was nice to see everyone and hated to have to leave early, but the conditions made it not so hard to leave.
Alot of meets this year seemed to be very windy or extremely hot, but flying in the sun really sucks. I wasted the first day waiting for the sun to go behind me, just to watch it curve in front of me. The second day was cold and cloudy which covered the sun, but then there was a direct crosswind all day. I support Jerry 100% and hope to be there next year on a north to south runway.
This kind of talk is necessary, constructive feedback to plan for a better 18th Superman!!!
This is no flaming and i intend absolutely no disrespect to Jerry Caudle.

Eardoc,
Thanks for the pics, and keep them coming when you can. It is a blessing for those who could not attend the event.
Tell your lovely wife, Darla and William said hi, and bless you both.

Hello Everybody,
I have quite a few pictures as I am sure many others do as well. I will share a bit of what I have and as usual a couple of short stories.
First a big Thank You to Jerry Caudle and all who were responsible for putting this together...........................a very nice event. A couple of years ago Jerry invited me to attend his event and I told him "I would do my best to make it." Well, it did'nt happen last year and I am very happy to say this was one of the best times I have had at any event that I have attended. There was a bit of a crosswind for a couple days due to a front passing................but to be quite honest, I cannot think of a big event that I have attended where there, was'nt a crosswind? ie Florida Jets, TopGun.....etc. I think this is primarily due to the fact that we are operating at full-scale multi-runway airports with priority of the prevailing wind runways being given to full-scale traffic. My only criticism would be that with all of the available ramp space, maybe the orange saftey fence could have come back about 5 to 10 more feet to make more of a "runway" for drifters due to the crosswind turning aircraft toward the net. Nontheless........................Great job by all in attendance. Thanks again Jerry.
