Bandit initial throws

Thanks to all who responded to the last post for the CG. Now I got that out of the way, does anyone know what the recommended initial throws are for the Bandit. Also is there any difference in the throws between a balsa and composite Bandit. How about flight characteristics, is there anything I should be aware of in particular, especially on the first few flights?

Get as much elevator travel as poserble, from memory it is stated at 1 1/8 inch and you will need all of it and make sure the stab is set correctly ( thats not in line with the profile on the fuss).

I agree 100 percent, I have seen sloppy build jobs that limit the up elevator throw, not good!!
If you don't have enough it will be hard to flare properly, and if your landing speed is even a bit too high a bandit can bounce more than any plane I have ever seen!

Why is it the Bandit bounces down the runway like a ball? I can't make my mind up is it the tyres are too soft, is it the struts are not damped enough is it the flex plates are too springy or is it all of them? This is the only thing that I could not fully sort out with the Bandit. It even did it when the landing was ultra slow.

three of maybe more reasons:
#too fast landing
#due to my observation I think the more flaps the more bouncing (maybe because a sort of ground effect)
#the lack of damping of the struts
look at good (adjustable) shock absorbers of cars or rc-buggies. a good setup with the adequate oil and you can limit the bouncing to a minimum.

If you have your Bandit set up with the CG at the point indicated on the plans it will be a touch nose heavy and it is harder to land. My BB is setup with the CG at 8 1/2" this is 1/2" behind the starting point CG and it lands very well. You also need to make sure that when you land it you hold it off until it settles down onto the runway. You can't force a landing with the Bandit or you are replacing flex plates. I have found that using the speed brake definetly helps my landings become more consistent.
1 1/8" sounds right for the elevator, I believe that is the same for the rudder although I could only get 7/8" on mine because of a little mod I did on mine.
