Default TGA interceptor Question

Just bought a TGA Interceptor pre-fab. Planning to run a Ramtec and Rossi 90 in it. I have a plug in wing and was planning on Mono-coting the wings. My question is, will the Monocted wing hold up the the extream speeds? or should I class the wings? any comments would be appreciated.

Monocoat will work as long as you stick to the DF set up. If your gonna go turbine then glass 'em.

Default TGA interceptor Question

Robart 3/8" straight struts on the mains, and robart p-51 style offset on the nose seems to be the most popular after the simple wire struts.

I like the "MiG-15" style nose strut I have one of mine, keeps from bending in the grass.

I think there are pictures on my web site of both setups.

Default TGA interceptor Question

On the prefab Interceptor I'm working on I am gonna use the nosestrut that was intended for my Renegade, its a sweet unit(looks very similar to the one used on the L39's & MAS vigilantes)

I hope to have my intereceptor done in the next month(RTF)I am gonna be painting mine glosssyyy red (ppg) I always wanted a shiny red jet (looks like a bullet even on the ground) The scheme will be russian aggressor.I will post some pics when mines complete

By the way if any guys out there are looking for a easy quick build jet thats very easy on the checkbook go with this prefab version(they are 595.00-I bought mine for 495.00 at xmas special) out of the box all surfaces are presheeted ,all formers/spars preinstalled, fuse pre primed-ready to paint, leading edges installed, very little to do ..And in the end result you have a ballistic missle that'll run with vipers and starfires- at a very cheap price & the quality is top notch!!

Default TGA interceptor Question

Terry,
I got the Robart straight struts for the main. The only problem I have is that you have to cut them very short for the Interceptor. I can only get the bushing(for wire strut) in half way before it bottoms out. If I cut the bushing, will that be enough?
Thanks,
Craig

I have the New Springair 701's for mine. They do not use the wire. The Strut goes into the aluminium block.

Yes, they are much shorter than the Mig or F-15 Gear legs.

I don't know if the insert bushing will hold if it is not all the way in, I doubt it tho. My old one has the set up you described, and the insert is all the way in the strut.
