we used ours this weekend.

Limeybob's Jetcat P-60 showed 12.4lbs thrust

I thought it would be more than that

This is a great idea. Has anyone checked one against a known force gage, or turned it up with a known weight on it, to see how accurate it is?

Checked a couple of turbines yesterday, works great. I got 12.7# on a P-60 in my JetMach

I saw 12.4 from where I was standing which was behind the nose, he was in front and may have seen it spike to 12.7

I was expecting at least 13.5

I checked mine using a known five pound weight on top of the cone. It measured a repeatable 4 lbs 15 oz to 5 lbs 1 oz several times.
That's close enough for me.

I will be using it as as a reference anyway. It's close, but no cigar.

Sounds pretty good, Harley. I'll have to get one

Anyone using this to measure force with the cone against the nose of a model should expect it to read less than the rated thrust of the engine due to tailpipe losses and frictional losses of the tires against the pavement.

you are the most childish acting person I have ever seen.
You continue to edit and delete posts to suit you.

How much is JetCat paying you to delete or edit any post that you don't like?

Everytime you do this, it is having the opposite result that you intend.
Everytime you edit a Jetcat post or Mr. Matt pm's me to tell me I'm wrong, it makes me hate you and JetCat even more.

I swear to god I will never buy from JetCat again and it wont be because of the engine. It's from BS like this.

Joeflyer,
You're right.
Frictional losses of the tires is called "sticksion".
We did this at work on a SWB turbine powered small UAV in about 1996 to get a more accurate reading. We used a load cell instead of a fish scale.

Harley,
In 37 years as an automotive engineer I learned a few things that I can apply to this hobby.
