While we wait for the Ocala meet, Cape Coral is having a really nice warbird meet Jan 19th and 20th. A big bunch of guys ( Jets ) will be attending that small gathering. So if you have a military type Jet try to make it.

Well everyone I have terrible news about a jet get together. I was informed by the board that there is a bylaw that had been passed that there can be no jet get together at the Ocala field and here is how the bylaw states.
Section 6 of the Bi-Laws states: as of 12/2003
"The number of turbine powered aircraft at all scheduled flying contests; events or gatherings open to non-member pilots held at the OFMC Field shall be limited to 20% of the total number of model planes participating each day. Where non-member pilots participate OFMC pilots shall receive priority over non members."
This bylaw was passed when the board of 2003 was in effect; they had very little education on the true facts of turbine jet models, so out of fear of burning down the airfield they passed this bylaw.
Sorry Guys for getting anyone’s hopes up. Although if we cannot get rid of this By-law, I am going to look in to the Dunnellon Airport for a possible Jet Rally...
