RE: My new kangaroo!
Murdoc,
Can't quite make out the lettering on the connector bar. It appears to be gas, fuel, and vent. If the "vent" is the fuel system vent, the inside of your beautiful airplane is going to get very messy. It should vent to the outside of your jet and be left open to atmosphere when filling the tank and flying.

That is not a problem, when the engine is running there is vacuum in the vent tube. And when you are filling up the plane you connect a tube from the "vent" to a tank placed outside on the wing. When the plane is standing still (no engine running) the "vent is higher then the top level on the tanks inside the plane, and there will be no spilling. The one thing to remember is: if you need to service the plane and have to turn it up side down PLUG THE VENT TUBE!!!

What do you guys think ?
- I can´t see clearly in the pics, but if the steering wires are touching each other they can generate RF noise... Just turn the servo upside down to solve the problem as it seems that all channels in you receiver are busy.
- Read as much as you can about the high trustline flight characteristics of this plane as well as the landing technique, check and cycle the batts as well as a range check and have a lot of fun!

Rocketman is incorrect, You will need to place the tank vent outside the aircraft! I used to think that fuel could not emit from the vent too, but all of my Isobars ALWAYS got discolored white paint behind the vent tube from fuel spray. I assume it was during inverted maneuvers. Every thinks it can not happen, yet it does. If the vent remains inside, it will be a mess!

Murdoc, nice plane have fun with her. But I also agree that the vent should be somewhere at the bottom fuse. Also make sure that the 2lt soda bottle cap never get loose. It seems that the cap is to the aft of the plane. That means is lower than the bottom of bottle where you got the vent conected. If that cap get loose in the air it may be end in a fireball. Or if the cap get loose inside your car you will never forget that smell. Just my 2cents.

Looks that way. Also, the vent does not absolutely need to be on the bottom. It can be up top some where, it's just uglier there. My original Kangaroo I had painted with Krylon (some of the upper surface was white Krylon) and had the vent on the top of the fuse, just in front of and next to where one of the vertical fins started. The fuel would spray, I assume when inverted, all over the surface behind it. I assume it was the Exxon 2380 reacting with the cheasy Krylon when UV radiation hit it as it would turn a brownish off white and looked like crapola real fast!

Just don't fly inverted, roll or pull any negative G's so that the fuel in the main tank never loiters near the internal tank vent line and all will be well. Makes for some boring flying though!

RE: My new kangaroo!
hey,
Nice kangaroo you have there.
I've had the same struts on mine in the beginning (the stiff ones) but at every landing there was one bent or the wooden suppport in the fuse broke.
Later I've installed the Jet-1A struts, and now I can do many hard landings without starting to glue or adjust the struts again.
I've got mine from Digitech [link]http://www.digitech-turbines.com[/link]
cheers

Is that something I should change now, or should I just fly with it as it is?
This is my first turbine model... so I am extremely nervous for the maiden flight. Do you guys remember when you should maiden your first turbine powered jets?? Maybe I should get an experienced jet pilot to stand next to me while I"m flying..?
Think I am the youngest jet pilot in my country... 16 years old. But thats not a shame, I think

RE: My new kangaroo!
As for my experience, I would get those struts first.
As for your nerves, just go with it. The Kangaroo is a very good beginner. It was my first jet I've flown. (I was 17 when I first flown a jet) It also flies very good at low speeds.
A tip: You can pitch the nose quite high during landing (It remains very stable at low speeds).
The rates of the manual are fine. I fly the elevator on max rate and the ailerons on reduced rate.
Good luck with the maiden...
