Default over powered???????????

hey guys, my question to this panel of experts is. i have a knights of air mig 15, the person i bought it from was setting it up for a single dynamax fan unit, i want to convert to either two byrons, or dynamax fans and use 2 os 91's, is this too much power? i think it will have plenty for roll and lift off of grass, and i can throttle back once in the air. but with the 91's am i making a mistake???

Thers no such thing as "To much power" in a ducted fan! IMHO.

Default statistics

ok, maybe this will help,

lenght 75 inches
wing span 46.5 inches
wing area 757 inches
weight 16 lbs
recomended engines 2- .75's.

so this is why i am here, will two 90's be to much?

thanks for the help

Nope. The KOTA planes came out pretty heavy, usually, and you can really use the extra power.
I beleive the original setup on that plane was two Byron fans in the first place.

the person who started to build this jet , installed the formers for a single fan, dynamax. but also sent me the formers for a dual fan set up, i already have a pair of dynamax fans, not installed yet, but i would think the byrons would work better with 2 - os 91's or rossi 90's

I think twin byron would be better. You are right. The ducting is primitive on these planes(no intake ducting at all, right?) and twin byron is a lot easier than twin dynamax. Lower revs, less vibration and stress. You REALLY need to have your act together to do twin dynamax...you get all sorts of weird failures from vibration if all is not JUST SO. Gotta hand it to the Tom Cooks and such who mastered those types of planes!
I would knock out the former and put in the proper one, for twin byron. I understand this plane flies pretty good in the original setup, though I have not flown it myself.
