Hello all,
I'm confuzzled. I love my Bobcat, and I've got a Kingcat on order, but the exposed engine, boomed aircraft is getting old. I need an enclosed engine sport plane (scale is ok too) for a weekend beater. 400 feet or less of runway, docile handling, and does not have to be a speed demon. Something i don't have too much money into that prohibits me from enjoying the little time i get away. Has to be an ARF (I don't Paint), and preferably P-70 size (P-60 ok too). any ideas??? Thanks, and happy holidays, Greg

Mine flys beautiful with a p-70

Can't beat a Composite-ARF Rookie II. They have an enclosed engine, come already painted in the mold (choice of colors), are a great weekend beater, and are a great value for the money (much cheaper than about anything else out there). I've had 5 of them, and enjoyed every one. Can't recommend them highly enough for a sport weekend beater, and they'll fly on anything from a P-60 all the way to a P-120 and give great performance.

Thanks for the opinions guys. I thought that would come up (Bandit ARF) and i was going to put in my original post that i would prefer something cheaper that a bandit...i have a Classic bandit with a P-120, and wouldn't risk it on a 400 ft runway.....is the arf really short field capable??? Thanks, Greg

1 flash and 3 rookies=1 bandit arf. its a no brainer unless you have way too much money or no brains. JMO. All of them equal $50 in FG, and $00 in the trash! LOL!!
Flash would be first on my list then a rookie or a eurosport all for fun. !~o)

I flew my old bandit composite from the field in Cape Coral I belive it was 250. You can fly it from that lenght you just need to be confident in your low speed abilities.

I threw out bandit because you had mentioned that you already had a king cat on order. Also I've heard that because it weighs less it therefore has less kinetic energy so it should slow more and take off and land in a shorter distance.

gotcha.....i'm told the arf is a lot lighter than composite or classic iterations......speaking of wing area....the ARF uses the Balsa Bandit's larger span (69"?) so it has a little more wing too. Happy new year, Greg

Greg: MY Bandit arf came in at 18 lbs with smoke tanks and lipos (dry of course). I love all the bandits that I have had, but for sport flying, the best "for me" was the Kingcat. Once you fly them, you get spoiled and you want all jets to fly like the KC!!!!!
