Default Powermax trigger valves

The manufacture of the basic photo shop valves has stopped production. The reduction of photo shops in the US was the reason given. So no more PowerMax trigger valves. Thanks for the business.

PowerMax here in Hawaii is getting very hard to find. Is it the same on the mainland?

That's areal shame Darryl; your valve is one of the 1st things I put on the list of required hardware for guys looking to get into turbines. I guess I'd better hope mine doesn't go missing any time soon...

I bought one from BVM. Is this not the same thing?

A trigger what?

Never used or needed one after two jets and two years of flying them.

Carlos - how do you get the propane out of the Powemax can if you don't have a trigger valve?

Bob, you can use a piece of brass tubing with 4mm festo tubing slipped over the brass to get the PM into your propane tank. I had to do it long ago when I left my Trigger at home. It's not the best method but works when in a pinch.

Power Max is impossible to get here in Puerto Rico I'm able to find few cans, don't ask me how I get them. But when I finish them I will have a good souvenier in my tool box cause I don't have a desk at work. Any way the brass tubing mention above works like a charm. I tried it before I got the trigger valve.

Hi Bob

All you need is a one way Festo valve ( you probably have installed already before the can ) and a airline fitting connected to the ( in ) line, the tip goes into the can and press, make sure the end going into the can is grind down so that it does not get stuck in the can, works all the time.

If you like a airline fitting I can send you one by mail, let me know if you do.

Picture to come soon, after work.

Alejandro:

I'am using 80/20 mix that I can re-sell on the island, it's a stove fuel, works perfectly well on my turbines (PowerMax is 90/10), it works better than Coleman propane and won't ruin your gas lines, it's more expensive than propane or PM, but PM is almost impossible to get here. I haven't tried a trigger valve, but I can tell you that the valve orifice on the containers I use is a bit smaller than PM's, so it may not work, I use a brass tube to extract the gas.

I am new to turbines and I have a Trigger valve that I bought from DreamWorks. I know that there is more than one way to skin a cat, but the powermax trigger valve sure makes the job easy, fast and the valve looks nice and works great. I would get one while supplies last if I didn't have one. I may even get a second one just to have "in case."

Hi Carlos. I met you at Woodland/Davis Jets this fall. When will the event be in 2007?

Thanks for the offer on the airline for the propane. I have a trigger valve I bought from BVM and have been using that - it works really good, so I don't
need anything else. But I do appreciate your willingness to help.

Have a great new year Carlos and hope to see you at Woodland next year. Better yet, why not come to Jets Over Whidbey in Aug.?

Yes I remember now, It was a pleasure to have you at our jet meet. The woodland jet meet happens around the same time every year ( October ).

Jets Over Whidbey? Something to consider......mmmmmm, maybe.

Have a happy new year and go fly.
