Default SkyMaster F18E help

Skymaster pilots I need some asistance...

I am installing my landing gear and I am having some issues. Can any of you who have a SM F-18E model shot some detail photos of the main landing gear installation? Also, if you could provide some measurments as to the exact position you have the retract unit seton the gear plate that would be helpful as well.

Thanks in advance!

My problem is the right main gear. I was (am) having issues getting it in the correct position. I had to remove a lot of material from bulkhead just aft of the gear mount so the strut could clear. no matter how I fitted it I just could not get it just right. I have it in there now but I think it is sketchy at best. The left main went in with ease. Much quicker than the right. I have measured everything best I could figure and I think I am good to go but I will have to do something with the right bulkhead and the right gear plate. I don't like the amount of material holding everything in.

I guess I am just making rookie mistakes, but I will get it right no matter how long it takes.

Any insight on this issue would be greatly welcomed!

Thanks!

I had to grind out lots of wood on both of my SM F-18E's to get the gear in without bind...

Are you saying that when you put your retract in the up position the strut hits the wood former that is right after the retract mount?

If so, I also had to remove some wood from there. What I did in mine is to also add some of these...???... In order to move the retract apart from the bulkhead.

I hope this is what you are talking about, my english is not that good after New Year party...

Yeah, it is hitting the bulkhead. The right gear was really bad, I am not suspecting that the hardwood mount was not aligned correctly when installed.
