I just finished the installation of a pilot in my Kingcat using one I purchased from BVM. I'm 99% sure they are made by Blue Box. They have several pilots from Korean war era to current. Only about $40 and very scale. Someone in Europe should sell it, if not contact BVM.

Blue Box pilots are 1/6 scale, in a 1/5 scale bird they look a like someone who is verticaly challanged and in the need of a phone book

Hi Jeanfi,

I do a range of bbi and dragon pilots but mine are converted to lightweight, and have the option of an r/c head. Check my web site www.scaleaircrewsupplies.co.uk and have a look at the videos of my RAF pilots in action (remember to turn up the volume!.)

They are all 30cm high, but look fine in some 1/5th models (not all pilots were tall!)

I can do F-86, MiG 15, F-14 desert, F-14 , F-15, F- 117 and F-18, or I can make up one from components to your request.

I have attached one data sheet for you to look at.

If you would like more info on any of the others, email me direct from the web site.

cheers

Mark

Hi Alan,

it seems to be OK from this end, and checked via Google (search "scale pilots" ) and all came up OK. Might just have been a server issue overnight (UK overnight that is!)

If your still having trouble, let me know what your interested in, and I'll send you data sheets direct. try me on [email protected]

Thanks everyone for all your interest,

cheers

Do you do any 'head-and-shoulder' types? Trying to find a decent one for my SM F5 in which I am not using the scale cockpit that normally would fit your full lenght pilots.

Cheers

Hi SF,

The best I can do is cut one down for you, but it makes it an expensive head and shoulders, sorry.

cheers

The best detailed, 12" articulated, 1/5, come from Blue Box. They have lots of different ones. I think the Franklin Mint site might have the best price on them.

Blue Box are nice for sure but do look out of place in many of the 1/5 scale aircraft i.e. MB-339 and L-39, Panther etc I would go with either Airworld or Century Jets for true 1/5 scale pilots... Petes Pilots in the U.K. also do 1/5 scale pilots, though not sure if Petes are still around?
