This might be a silly questions but what is the safety distance from the intake to stop one been sucked in?

Those photos are totally amazing, looks like he is about to put his intake on the deck!

Also is it me or are those intakes angled down at the bottom..does the intake move on the Euro?

It doesn't really matter what the distance is, since the aircraft is travelling at "high" speed and thus the air is pushed into the intake rather than sucked :-)
