Default MAN EAGLE 7

The EAGLE 5 is an excellent jet plane, designed by Giancarlo Genta from Italy as a hobby+ a tool for him to use to fine tune a CG calculator for his work. I BUILT ONE OF THESE AND IT IS AN AWSOME FLYER, FAST AND MANEUVERABLE AND VERY EASY TO LAND. I t uses a 14 lb turbine and average retracts so building one does not break the bank! Since RCM is no longer available he has published EAGLE VER 7 in MAN so I thought I would start this thread. As for me I have a plan set and will build one of these in my spare time... it features forward swept wings, canards and THRUST VECTORING so it will be even more maneuverable than the 5

Geh3, maybe I am a bit dull, but I can't find the corresponding issue. They mention July and May issue (no "june' issue). Which one is it then ? I'd like to order the building article as well. Thx !! [sm=thumbup.gif]

Hi Strykaas,
Seems like the June issue is missing from their website. There isn't much construction detail in the article. If you like I can scan it and email it to you.

Correct. The "detail" is unfortunately in the 2-part construction series for the "5" jet which appeared in RCM; design background in Pt 1, actual construction in Pt 2. The construction detail in the 2nd article is the foundation for construction of the "7".
Anybody wanting these articles in Adobe PDF can email me direct - beware, Pt 1 is ~700K, Pt 2 is ~1M.

Hi folks,
I'm Alessandro Genta , the co-author and the pilot of the Eagle 5 & 7 .Apparently the drawings sold by on MAN are not the final ones and the strakes are missing. We have not jet seen the construction article ( is there anybody who can scan it and send us a copy?) . We can email a small file with the drawings of the strakes to anybody interested. Its a very important inprovement and we sugest not overlooking it.

If anybody has nice videos or pictures we will be grateful to have the links. (also of the very old Eagle 2 (ducted fan) published in 1994 on RCM...)

bye-bye...

Alessandro

Alessandro,
PM your email address and I will forward the scanned MAN article.
Are the missing strakes for just the Eagle 7 ? If they also apply to the Eagle 5 then I would be interested in a copy.

ok, Joe,
my mail is [email protected]. For the stakes on the Eagle 5... they can regolarize the airflow on the nose. Unfortunaetely my personal Eagle V was lost last may , so I cannot try them on it .They should have little effects since there is no canard, if you want to try i sugest to move CG 10mm forward. Let me know if you try .

I'm hoping we can come up with an actual source for the L-39 canopy depicted in the dwgs. Anybody have a clue about the source: "plastic canopy from L-39 Albatross kit by P. Spada"? Or a substitute ... ?

SPADA is a european kit manufacturer, they make an L-39 kit that is perfect for the Wren MW44 engine

OOPPS that should be SAVEX L-39, the canopy from this is the correct one!

Looking at related threads, there seem to be problems with the Savex folks and their ability to produce/deliver L-39 "kits," let alone provide spare part canopies (which seem to be already painted - gagh) [] For those of use here in the States I'm thinking we'll have to investigate other sources for a clear canopy and adapt accordingly.

I used a radically cut down canopy from a TopFlite Giant Scale p-51 for my VER 5.0 ( reversed it)
