Default Florida Jets after action report

We had a great time at Florida. Great job by Frank Tiano and his crew (particularly the flight line crew)

Jason Somes, Rob Janiger and myself traveled to Florida with JetCat USA GM Bob Wilcox to get our flights on, and hang out with customers and our buddies. Now with utmost respect I offer the following observations:

1.) People are getting good at flying. Not many crashes.

2.) Bryce's Lavi is very cool

3.) Several big F-18's out there now and they fly good

4.) BVM F-100s handle the wind like no plane I have seen

5.) Isobars are neat

6.) Facet is one of the coolest planes I have seen in awhile

7.) Chris Mounkley's(?) new onboard first extinguisher is cool

8.) P-160 + BVM F-4 = high velocity

9.) The big scratch built F-104 was the sleeper of the meet

10.) The P-70 is very cool

11.) Palm Coast Bloody Mary = Customer Satisfaction.

12.) BV is a pretty cool guy

13.) Shulman can still fly OK, but no improvement seen lately

14.) My cholesteral cannot be too bad as I got 3 flights in with no heart attacks

15.) Tam needs to get a better shipper or a better excuse

16.) With respect, fly Virgin Atlantic with confidence (Hi Nick and Mark)

17.) Francis better keep all 12 eyes on that daughter :-)

18.) Frank was cool to let Jason get his turbine heli flights on

19.) People need to remember to charge their ECU batteries if they plan to land with the turbine running :-)

20.) Wilcox has a lot of patience to put up with us.

21.) Horst has a weak bladder

Matt, try it, you'll like; I MEAN, YOU'LL LOVE it. It's not quite your BV F-4, but then again your cholesterol will not even matter when your flying the Facet , it's a "non-heart attack" experience.

Not sure who that guy was, but the plane was really great, very clean inside and built with leading edge flaps. Tom Wood flew it, maiden and at least one other flight, he has big hairy b*lls.

That was your yellow and white one, right?

Me and Rob are talking about getting the big one after watching you fly, it is a neat little plane.

Matt,

You definetly tested the glue joints, stab pivot, and wing spars in the Rhino! If I wasn't having so much fun with the 160 on the Bobcat mine would be in the F-4 right now.

If new this go to happen. I rather ship to Wilcox. Have him mounted to Jason rear end. It would made a perfect afterburner exhaust nozzle.

I pay for 3 days shipping. End up slower than snail mail.

Here is the photo.
Let see anyone can mount this to Jason rear end.

Hey Matt,

It was great seeing you and all of the California JetCat gang. As always, you guys flew the wings off your airplanes.

Don't you think that David Reid needs more engine for his BobCat? He should at least be able to hand launch that thing by now; single handed.

Believe me he did not need the afterburner, especially after the Portugese food we had.

We really missed you Tam, its just not the same without you.

Yes, that was mine. The "big" one is 90", should fly even better. I'll see the big one in action in May. Hopefully Kerry will give me some stick time on it and then I can compare the two.

Kevin & Ed should have some 2300's real soon.

22.) Observance of 3 am closing times in daytona are not conducive to early morning flying.

the 2300's will be there very soon, kerry has them boxed up.

Does anyone know how many pilots and/or models showed up to the event? I forgot to ask. I'd like to publish it in my newsletter write-up. Thanks!

Sorry Matt! Getting a Duralite for the turbine so I only have to charge every 10 flights

Hey Matt,

It was good seeing you, Rob, Jason and Bob out this way again! Glad you guys had fun and went home with everything!

I know, I know, between you and Scott Marr, I've got those dreaded right-hand pattern's down. Now if I can only work on some new maneuvers, lol.

And as far as the 160 in the BobCat (David Reid's), WOW! I had the chance to take to the sticks, and its unreal!

See you guys at the next rally!

Dave Shulman
