RE: JetJoe JJ1800 turbine
Hi Lior,
I have one and I am testing it. It is actually not bad. Makes lots of noise and blows lots of hot air out the rear end like any other KJ-66 type around.
My one had some 'quirks' early on but they are fixed now.
For the price , not bad. Can only speak for myself though, don't know of anyone else with one.

I got a JJ1800... I got NO problems with it..plug and play. Pushed my a-10x around with authority. I consider it a great little turbine for a bargain price, plus you get Gabe Browns hands on it to make sure you have no problems, and if you do, you just give him a call.

Meps, I'm also very interested in your Mig-29. I'd love a detailed synopsis of how you went about it all. I have a Mig-29 that I'd like to turbanize.

I don't have pictures of it yet but I'll get some soon. I bought the Mig from a buddy of mine already converted. It doesn't appear to have any "major" modifications. It use to fly on a Wren 54 mk11. At that time, it weighed 16.5 lbs dry. The Wren barely flew it. After getting the JJ1800, I had to change the motor mounts and I also beefed up the rear of the fuse by adding a former at the leading edge of the stabs to prevent flexing of the stabs. I also added a former approximately 2 inches back from the leading edge of the wing because when I would lift the plane, there was a small amount of flex present due to the heavier engine.
I'm using a bifurcated pipe from Tam.
I'll try to get pictures soon as I don't have a digital camera(I'm kind of behind the rest of the world). I should be flying it real soon.

I know mine doesnt produce 23lbs. A safe guess would be 18lbs but thats a guess.

Meps, when you do get access to a digi cam, be sure to take pics of everything How are you handling the gear situation? Are you comfortable that it can take a beating?

Could possibly be, I'm just letting you know what I think it could be. Its definitley a very strong motor I just havent measured it at all. There are alot of factors into play with realized thrust such as field elevation, temperature, etc..
