F 100 help needed

F 100 help needed
While taking shots of a F100 simulator I happen to see this note above a red lever.... Emergency Speed Brake Dump... Port side (Left) top ..any Ideas as to what It did? deploy the brake then it left the airframe ?? Gotta be an Old F100 driver or crew chief who could provide the correct answer

I'm neither a driver or crew chief, but I have a North American F-107 flight manual that has the same Emergency Speed Brake Dump lever. In the manual, it states, sliding the lever to the dump position (forward in the F-107) dumps hydraulic pressure from the actuating cylinders, allowing the airloads to trail the door (closed position).
Moving the lever aft restores the speed brake operation, to extend-door/off/retract-door operation, using a 3 position speed brake switch, located on the throttle quadrant.
The speedbrakes are in different locations on these aircraft, but both aircraft were built by the same company in roughly the same timeframe. So I would doubt it actually blows the speedbrake panel off the aircraft.

Ron, your description is outstanding, you can identify the 3 position speed brake switch on the throttle . F 107 another speed demon from North American,and I believe it was NA last aircraft too. can't even recall who purchased them, maybe Lockheed..?

Hi Joe. If you look on the top of the throttle control in the last picture you can make out the speed brake control. The switch looks like it is in the 'out' (extend) position.
