Default JetCat P-120SE Upgrade

Has anyone had their JetCat P-120 upgraded to P-120SE yet ?

How did it go, how long did it take, are you getting impressive spool up times now ?

Thanks.

I have a converted P120 to an SE on my Tamjet F-16. This turbine is unbelievable. I flew it again last night and I was telling someone how often I bring the throttle stick to an idle during my flights instead of holding at least a 1/4 for better spool up. You absolutely do not need to worry about throttle lag. From an idle to full thrust is less than 3 seconds. From an idle to some thrust is almost instant as apposed to a non SE you have to wait at least 3 to 4 seconds to get ANY thrust. Get it done, you will love it. This also makes landings much much easier.

Hi Russ,

Glad to hear that your SE upgrade was a complete success. You sound mighty pleased with it, that's very encouraging.

Did you send it to JetCat USA or Germany.
How long did it take for them to do it ?
Maybe you could tell me how much $ they charged you, I'm hearing conflicting costs.

I'm not sure whether to go thru' UK JetCat dealers or contact JetCat Germany direct.

Thanks.

Jules.

Is the thrust the same? Ive had 2 P120s...I own one now and I never get the advertised thrust.

Anyone know the pricetag in dollars from JetcatUSA?

Unless your SN is 1996 or above the cost is prohibitive ( about $900) . Before that SN too many hard internal parts need to be replaced to do the upgrads. After that SN it is just software and the internal turbine PC board. Scott

You can have it done by Jetcat in California. They have a great turn around time and great service. Check out jetcat-usa.com for thrust and specs. The reason I love the throttle response on my 120 and Titan SE is for the instant thrust it creates when you move the throttle stick. It's great that it gets to full throttle quickly, but it's even better that you don't have 0 thrust for 3-4 seconds like the non SE upgrade!

Here is a link to watch the Titan SE...you can really hear the spool up on the final approach!

P120SE video soon to come on this same website.
